Hi guys,

Can anyone let me know the number for BMW UK please so that I can check if the engine recall work has been done on an M3.

Do I need anything else apart from the chassi number?

No worries mate! I just used the registration when i phoned them and that was enough for them to tell me my car was an alusil not a nikasil

Hi mate, sorry for this but what check are you looking for.What year is your
M3 and mileage as you done.

Mine is an 04 with 27k dont know if any engine check as been done.

Has been a few recalls on the S54 engine Dave, most notably the most recent engine mod which should have been done early last year I believe. As yours is an 04 you missed the other big recall which was the oil pump and bearing one that was necessary to stop the early S54s from imploding and seizing up.

Just checked with BMW uk and all the recall work has been done, they're quite friendly and helpful:p

Yea they were when i phoned. I just told them i was looking at buying a e36 328 and had heard about problems with nikasil so could they explain it to me and was mine post nikasil. Took reg and told me it was an Alusil. Best 5 mins i've spent on the phone!!!!

Hi Chaos,thanks for that, now i can remember :rolleyes: having my old 02 M3 in for the recall for the big end.
