I have been wanting to do something to the back of the car for a while and the obvious answer was the diffuser. I considered going for the ACS replica panel but the more I though about it I didn't want to screw into the existing panel. Having always loved the CSL look I decided to get one. One call and a swift kick in the knackers by the local BMW parts bloke indicated I would need to sell my kids if I wanted an OEM CSL diffuser, I don't want to pay vorsteiner prices either as I am a tight git so ebay it was. A quick search came up with something from canada. Okay, so they are not 100% but for the price i paid i am delighted, first bit of carbon on the car. And as already stated, me being tight and into DIY modding i decided to paint it myself, so two and a bit cans of BMW phoenix yellow and I end up with this.

The paint work is pretty good, masking the thing was believe it or not a b!tch as to get a totally straight line along the length of the diffuser is really hard and the corner bits were a pain, in fact all of it was but I am happy with the overall finish for what it has cost me in total outlay.

Looking forward to putting it on the car at some point, should freshen its @ss up a tad now :D .

Also, due to not having the euro plates on the car and going to the ring in two weeks i decided to buy a new pair from fancyplates. Nothing flash, just the euro GB sign and a little ///M . It is all in the detail.

Great choice! You DIY paint jobs are very impressive!

I want to paint my existing stone chipped to hell CSL splitters black, do I need to sand it down first or do you reckon I could get away with just a layer of paint on top?

I would always sand down first and fill the chips in as best you can, another light sand and primer and paint. I forget the name of the filler, but some people refer to it as stopper I believe but it is ideal for filling in stone chips.

It was this stopper that was used on my bumper after its sand blasting going to the ring

Hence me being 100% serious that i am covering the front of the car in decorators masking tape for the journey to and from germany. Can't be doing with that amount of paint abuse again :(

Anyway, here is the diffuser on the car. If I'm honest the edge of the paint does need rubbing down very very slightly but that can wait until I get back from the ring.

Also got another mod delivered by Roy. An AC Schnitzer back box. This exhaust came from Roys phoenix yellow M3. The exhaust is unlikely to get fitted before the ring trip though as I simply don't have time at the weekends prior to going and am having difficulty getting time off work for this :( - we'll see!!

I can't get it fitted Adood. I don't have the kit at home, i.e. ramps etc and when it was removed from Roys car the fixing bolts used to connect it to the centre pipes were cut so the flanges that carry these bolts need to be heated up so the cut bolts can be punched out or failing that drilled before it can go on my car. I 'may' and that is a very very slight 'may' be able to get it fitted on the 14th but I am not holding out much hope :( .
