They are exactly one year old. They are some of the most beautiful rims ever made. It's has been my dream come true rolling on them; but I've been there, done it, happy, and it's time to move on ....... My LMs are now migrating north to their new owner, rest assure you'll still see them on the forum
I will be rolling on stock 19" M-Double spokes in the interim until I decide whether I want to keep the M3, in which case I will start sourcing for a new set of rims; or move on to another project. I must admit, a car like this it's extremely difficult to part with. However, I've done all I want to do to the M3 in terms of modifications, and I sense a new adventure to be had.
Took a couple of sunset pics today in the park after an evening run ........

What is it with us lot and Mercs (well apart from me who never did like them). You're in any city in the Far East and in the parking lot and every other car is a Merc. Wish I could have noodles right now. Atkin's diet prohibits this luxury (slimming for the Ring). Is Tedster a noodle eater too?

Any variant of this VVVVVVVVVVVVV would be better than a merc dude , my uncle's wheels look very similar to BBS LMs although they are Porsche wheels

to see someone with a beatifull car like yours thinking of leaving in it...
especialy now that i am thinking of doing the lm's as well...:)
but if you really want to go on then why dont you wait a littlle more for the new M3?????
its going to be awesome to drive in my speculations.....
the benz is hot but not made for driving...only for cruising....
the porsche is hot, made for driving but in my opinion too much money on the road and in the deallers for servicing....
instead the M's do it all....:)

Good news for some though, so put me on the list for brakes and coilovers if you are splitting! :D

Nick you heard of the Mercedes "Black" AMG's ???
A brand made purely for attacking BMW's M division :D !!!!!!!!
the metal folding roof's on the SL and SLK are replaced withCarbon fibre fixed roofs !!!!!!!
handling is key !!!!!!
AMG and ///M are going to war !!!!! WOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO
the guy incharge of AMGs drivetrains and engines built the 996 GT3 and Carrera GT !!!!!!
the new M's don't do it for me , i'll be coming along to stuttgart or Aflterbach , ummm 65 AMG !!

They are both spoken for I'm afraid. Pepper mods don't hang around for long.
No hurry as yet. If I change it will be over the winter, to net myself a better bargain, especially with verts.

In my opinion SL55 is an awesome track car but for everyday use if you need the room (eg another 2 seats etc) CL55 is the way to go! Which ever you pick make sure its a kompressor cause then 600bhp and nearly 800nm of torque aint a problem.... so M3 wont be missed for long!
Also they dont need much to make perfect, all ive done so far is get a Kleemans lowering module, get it chipped, de-catted, uprated filters and de-limited. And all ive got left to do to make it perfect is get a Kleemans 60% LSD, a set of 19" BBS's and silver carbon fibre trim and i will have the biggest smile on my face for a long time!
Do it.... you know it makes sence! :D

I have been looking at CL55s too. They are awesome machines but the technology of the chassis is a bit old. If I need the space, the W211 E55 will be a better driver.
However, SL is soooooo much prettier :D

My bro has a pretty rare 04 plate 350 SL for sale soon. 8k miles i think when i last drove it, TV sat nav, usual toys, very very nice and it makes a change rather as opposed to the common silver/black light blue colours i see everyday. Will try n get some pics up soon
Although, im thinking you'll want the SL55 due to the beefy engine!

You say that but with the ABC traction control on the hydrolic suspension for such a big car you get almost zero body roll (and pretty much zero once you deck it!) which just amazes me everytime i through it into a bend! All its lacking for track/drifting use is the LSD which is avalible aftermarket as i said earlier. But your right SL55 is much nicer if two seats is enough!

Air suspension is a must on SLs :)

Nick, the SL's are truely amazing cars, so much power in the AMG ones. had a couple at my old work and used to be able to get them sideways moving them round the site!
the old man has a 54 plate SL55 AMg, it is truely awesome. His went in for a recall on thursday, they fiddled with the second air supply (that's what they said anyway). to cut a long story short, he put the car in the garage last night, turned it off and the relay malfunctioned on the air supply causing the motor of it to burn out, heating up the engine and nearly cooking it in the process. this happened at half seven last night, and we could only just out our hands on top oif the engine at 8 this morning.
AMG's are lovelly cars, don't think the realiability is as good as an M car to be honest, but do love that V8 growl. Having driven the 55 and 65 AMG i would plump for the 55 as it gets the power down a lot easier and quicker than the 65!
i would have one though!
on a side note, unless you spec the TV in an SL you don't get the iPod connection facility in the glovebox!

Nice wheels, shame to see them go - but every cloud has a silver lining - I am sure an SL qualifies as a silver lining! :D
Look forward to seeing whats next.....
