Hello guys and girls. I been lurking around this forum for a while, but haven't posted anything as I didnt think my car was fit for the forum yet.

Not much done yet as insurance and the sound sytem set me back more than I had. Anyway here we go..

Thansk to Teddy and Nik for the angel eyes!!! Much appreciated

At the moment I'm running focal polyglass slims front and back, both running of one of the 450/4 and the 1000/1 for the subs. Needs some tidying with the wires

Loving the sound, but I need a little bit more bass. Anyone got any ideas???? I'm thinking either the new 2x12"W3v3's (anyone heard these?) or 2x10"W7's. What you guys think?

And lastly my headunit, not the best pic.

Hope you guys like.

Soon as I can get some more money, the tints, sportline springs and wheels. Can't wait, the joys of endless modding!

Welcome! Very nice clean example you have there [ok

You can try with a ported box in the first instance if you want more bass, but the bass will not be as smooth as that generated from a sealed box. Also, try sound deadening your boot, you'll be amazed how much bass is absorbed of deflected without proper sound deadening.

Yep, best place i could find to take pics, lets face it its not a scenic area! :)

Nik, I've tried a ported box, its louder, but I don't like the way the bass sounds, so im keeping it sealed, and the sound deadning I think I'll start when the new subs come in. Have you heard the new W3's need opinions on these

hello mate and welcome to the forum.

the new 12w3v3s are cool but imo not as good as the 12w3v2s.

with that amount of power i would go for a set of 10w7's. they are perfectly matched for the amp you have.
i am running a 10w7 in a sealed box and it is really tight and responsive. i have a 500/1 running it.

Thats what i thought until I spoke to teddy, they look just right IMO, Love them. There the generation 2 CCFL's, as the gen 1's aren't available for the facelift coupe :( . As for fitting I didn't touch it, Teddy and his boys completed the job for me, in like i think an hour :)

How do the v2s compare to the new w3v3s. I've got someone buying my subs on saturday, so I'm still confused about buying the new v3's. Because as you said 2x10"W7's would be perfect, but the budget doesnt allow that at the moment, so i might get one and the second in a few months time, but im worried that one at the moment will not send a lot of bass through, would love to hear yours. I know W7's are very very clean, but will they be as loud???

I have heard the 12W3V3 and the 12W3V2 back to back. The V2 is definitely more dynamic and musical. Bass note is softer without actually loosing volume. The V3 is harsh and monotonous.

Depends on what kind of bass you like. If you like musical bass, the W6s are IMO the sweetest sounding JL subs. W7 packs a lot of punch, but to me they are too boomy and drown the front speakers. If you just want bass and a lot of it, then go for the W7s. 10" again IMO sounds the best, 12" too loud and 8" not as smooth as the 10". If you're after bass just to fill in what your front components couldn't deliver at low frequency, I would say go for a single W6.
