Hi guys,
Where is the best place to get a CSL boot for the E46 M3. Are they easy to fit and do they go on with a perfect finish?
Also what dya think would further enhance the look of the M3 to suit the CSL boot.
Cheers fellas :)

Did you really need to ask that question. [bang :D
C.
Try your local dealer, if his an ok guy he might let you get one through them, cant beat the original for fitment.

Can't beat it, but you can match it for half the price. ;)
Match OEM??? I paid £560 inc VAT from a main dealer. Didnt know you could get a CSL boot for anywhere near £280?
And ive seen a few replicas, did not match OEM fitment.

Yes, match OEM, that's what I said. I've seen some that don't, I've seen some that do, it's all about making sure you get the quality not the cheap dross that people flog on Ebay.
As for price, I was generalising, hence the lack of numbers. If you want to talk specifics then Roy or Teddy will need to say how much theirs are, but I know you can get a regular bootlid done in carbon fibre finish from Roy for way less than you paid for your OEM CSL one (which, incidentally, was an unusually good price), nevermind one in primer, so it follows that the CSL lid should be similar.
Yeah fair shout, but i've seen people with volsteiner bootlids, although amazing quality and fitment, still doesnt match the OEM.
And im sure roys prices for the volsteiner CSL bootlids are quite a bit more than what i paid for my OEM, thats if the prices on his site are anything to go by.
As for what i paid, was cheaper than normal, but managed to get a 20% discount, dont ask me how, but the geezer is a propa top bloke at my local dealer. ;)

He may find he's got lots of work coming his way if he keeps that up, dealers like that are a very rare beast these days. :D
Tell me abt it, tried abt 3 other dealers before him, and non of them wanted to know! He even let me use the reg from 1 of there 2nd hand CSLs! [cool

hey guys
JD is right ,the oem csl boot lid is cheaper that vorsteiner ...if you can get one . However no way is the fit markedly better on oem , only slightly so ...I am even willing to bet most could tell them apart if side by side , correctly fitted and painted same colour .
CA or Teddy can supply you the vorsteiner items , and CA can also supply you original OEM versions too if preferred , at about £600 inc vat + delivery

I thought about it long and hard Steve, but I decided that it would look a bit qeird with the top down, sort of like a duck's arse if you get what I mean. I love them, don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure they really suit the vert. I was dead against it when I got my ACS lip, now I'm less so, but I still can't convince myself that anything other than a lip spoiler is going to look 'good'.

OH Dan [hiya
guess what i have sitting in the garage doing nothing ?? Yes a vorsteiner CSL boot for the vert .... :D :D
so why dont you pop round and we can dry fit it and then you will know for sure if it suits the car ?
This is of course an act of kindness and friend ship and not a disguised sales attempt [crackmeup [crackmeup
lets face it , how often do actually have the hood down , and now that you have that lovely hardtop the csl boot will look just right imo :)

I'm gonna leave it until I'm down that way next and can see it in the flesh (and fkin work won't leave me alone today, again :().
The boot looks good from that angle, it's side-on that I'm concerned about more than anything else. Bear in mind I'm a fussy bast when it comes to cosmetics though, so you may get more out of it than me Steve. :)

Cheers bro, much appreciated, knew I'd seen it somewhere but couldn't find the pics and those were the exact ones I was thinking of. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but the further you move to the rear of the car, the odder it looks. I love the last photo - from above and the front it looks just the ticket with the angle right at the back of the lid, but from behind I want my car looking low and wide, and it spoils both of those with it's shape. Perfectionist or plonker, you decide.
Ah you Plonker mate :D
I actually like that look on the vert...its soemthing different from the lip spoiler. I think the lines still flow well, as its only the end of the bootlid thats curved upwards.
