The owner is having a few problems with rubbing as he's got self levelling suspension - I think they look pretty good. Haven't seen them on an E38 before. Maybe the tyres could be lower profile?

Arches rolled? Wheels look ok even with chunky tyres, but if he's gonna lower the profile then he needs to make sure that the rolling radius remains the same.

Rolling the arches would be a step in the right direction. Another way of getting around this is to keep the profile the same and just reduce the actual width of the tyre, i.e. if he's on 265/35/19 then reduce to 255/35/19.
The tyre may look a little stretched depending on his tyre choice (i.e. Falken FK451's have a very narrow shoulder and will look stretched, but the same tyre size from Michelin will look fine).
