Wondered if someone could help with some guidance on cleaning my CAI filter.

It is not that old however I was going to give the whole car a bit of a service this weekend so it seemed like the right time to give it go. [cool

Many thanks in advance people. :)

P.S. The unit is as in the pic...

do in this order:

1. remove any larger particles that may be trapped in the creases. lightly tap the filter.

2. spray thoroughly with the cleaner spray (few brands but K&N is well known) and let sit for like 10 minutes.

3. rinse ( don`t use a high pressure spray! )with hose nozzle inside of the filter and move it around. DO NOT SPRAY FROM OUTSIDE. you want the dirt and crap flowing out and away, not into the filter chamber.

4. Now shake and swing the filter to try and get as much water off. I also usually let the filter sit out for like 30 minutes, hopefully somewhere with a breeze to let it dry out better.

5. spray the oil (can spray and has red dye to indicate sparyed surface) thoroughly on the filter, making sure you get it into the creases.

6. install back onto the tube and put your car back together.

Hope this helps
