It is possible, do a search on E46fanatics... once you see the work invloved you will probably change your mind.

one of my customer's E46 M3 has all blue interior lights (dash, dials, console, buttons etc etc) he did replace every single of of the LED (had to pull the old one out and solder the new one on) but he said it all took him no more than 2 hours.

agree with Durgs/Cris on this. If u are VERY good with soldering and have LOTS of patience then go for it.

Hi teddy, tell your customer if he does my dash I'll pay him. How do they look? Did he do the sat nav screen as well?

Not keen on the idea myself, but each to his own. ;)
My mates VW Golf has blue interior/dash lights, and although he found this very different and cool when he purchased the car, he now complains that they are clearly not as visible and outstanding as his previous motors orange/red lights.

i think someone on E36coupe has done the whole interior lights blue by himself, hes got the sickest E36 M3 evo convertable !!!
Shiney i think ? ?
tell u the truth im not really feeling it,
i think the orangey colour looks more classy and im sure it will cause less strain/tire on the eyes over a long journey.
i think it looks amazing... love it!

Just finished my window switches in UV but not sure yet if i like it, dont think its as bright as the blue, so im going to take them back out when i get the chance and put the blue in instead
So far its pretty easy didnt take me long at all [cool

Aye, UV only works as highlighting really unless you have UV reflective surfaces to bounce the light off. Blue will be much clearer and brighter Ian, you'll be much happier with it I'm certain.

05-05-2006, 09:45 PM
Yes mate i know what you mean but i think the blue might be to bright thats why i thought id try the UV it looks ok but could be better if you know what i mean :D
Ive got plenty LEDs 100 each
Heres a picture sorry its alittle blurry, The UV is about the same brightness as the orange, might replace all with the UV and see how it looks what do you think? [hmm

It looks brighter than I thought it might actually, but I still prefer a more crisp look. The blues look sharper, but that purple looks different and it does kinda work actually. The other alternative would be to go red maybe, a la Audi?
ian_79a

Thats the main reason i went with UV purple to be a bit different, ill do the rest of it when i get the chance snd take some picture see how it looks [cool
Your right the blue does look more crisp

I miss the blue lighting from my Bora V6. The orange is good, but the blue was awesome. Looks good as a conversion, but very brave! And Im sure it would stump the odd BMW tech when you take her in for warranty work

I can do it as long as your not in a rush :) i dont have a lot of spare time these days. And it can be quite time consuming theres 30+ LEDs in the heater control alone so you can imagine how long it might take to convert a hole dash
Ive thought about offering a service in the past but never went ahead with it.
Let me know what parts of the dash you want done and ill come up with a price. ie heater control, speedo, window switches, traction control ect.
only one im not sure about doing is head unit/sat nav and its only because ive never done one, it can be done though :)

Hi mate, I will need everything except warning lights, tractions, and sat nav there is another Z4 in my drive might be interested depending on price and also an almera mate.
Actually, if you flip back to peppernick picture, that's exactly how i want it, dual colour OEM + blue/purple

Need to know what you have E36, E46 coupe saloon etc.. and if you could tell me what parts your need changed because cars come with different options ie. rear window blind, heated seats, steering wheel controls....
Ill post up some pictures of mine, just need to take some first

opps,
E46 330CI pre-face.....heated seat, rear window blind? do you mean auto dim? and yes i do have steering wheel control, that's about it
ian_79a
11-04-2008, 11:35 PM
In some saloons they have a rear blind you can put up and down ;)
Next time your in you can at night with the lights on make a list of everything that lights up that you want the colour changed on and let me know so i can quote you properly
If theres anyone else interested in doing this to, Help me make a list of all the options ie.
Heater controls £xx
Window switchs £xx
Speedo £xx
Heated seats £xx
and so on
And ill try and come up with a list as above
Dont worry Fas i havent forgot what we talked about ;)

He used to sell another xenon kit if I remember rightly, but the footwell bulbs had some ongoing fault so he stopped.
