Can someone please explain exactly what the ccfl's are please. I have a 2002 M3 with Xenons. And how much are they?

in that pic nick posted see the white glowing rings in the headlights. Thats all they are! You install the rings into your existing headlamp. They replace your sidelight ;). Pricewise you gotta ask teddy!

The next gen of CCFLs are out shortly so I don't think Teddy has any more in stock atm. Not seen a price on the new ones yet but I'm sure El Teddo will supply one when he works it out. :cool:

CCFL stands for cold cathode fluorescent lighting. The current version of CCFL will be back in stock in about 2-3 weeks time, the next gen CCFL will have a slight delay as we need to run more tests on it to make sure everything is perfect. Price for the current version will drop very slightly to differentiate it from the new version, however in terms of brightness they are both rated at 8500k (the brightest and prettiest [ok :)

One thing I've been meaning to ask about these. Bought some from Teddy a while ago and very happy but one thing bugs me ... if I get pulled over by police over the lights how do I prove they are legal, there was no paperwork with them and they are not e marked?

there is no reason that you should get pulled over by the police for having a set of angel eyes on, unless they are jeaslous of your pretty eyes. Just tell them that the City police drive BMW E39 with halos too. Everyone on the forum who's their MOT done also passed without a single problem. There is a thread in the main forum about this.

Can't a policeman pull you over and ask you to prove that any part of the car is legal? And isn't lighting done on the basis of being e marked?

the reason they dont pull you up is because they wouldnt know whether white halo's are a standard 'extra' for a 3 series. Since they already come in yellow on the others. I have police always eyeing me out everywhere. Last night they actually followed me into a petrol station where i parked up while my mate got some shit. I turned off low beam and left only halo's on. Just got a few looks as usual and they drove off in there 5. Also like the guys discussed. They pass an MOT so they are road legal.

the only prob i can see if the small type effect your headlight beam/pattern, but if they pass they mot they can't

If you car fails an MOT for something like this then I will eat my shorts :D (mine past a month or so back with the tester telling me how much he liked the car) I'm sure these MOT testers have a mental note of real issue they are looking for like 10 year old fiesta's that are falling apart with rust.
