Hi, Anyone have any experience or advice on these types of tuning boxes for a 320d 150bhp, one is from http://www.tunit.co.uk/ there box gives 190bhp and 278lb.ft of torque for £398+vat.
The other is from a company called Dragon performance UK LTD the link is www.mrhoot.com/default.asp and there box gives 179bhp and 274lb.ft of torque for £249 inc vat.
And the other is a company called tuning kit.com there box gives 189bhp and 415Nm (306lb.ft) of torque for about £305 the link is http://www.isy-power.com/motortuning_tuning-kits_mehr_info_e.php
I think i would rather go the tuning box way then it can be removed at any time with no problems.
Any help would be most appreciated thanks.

I know what you mean about removal but just wouldn't advise a tuning box, friends I know have taken them off , re map every time the ones youve listed are the cheaper ones, if your gonna do it you get what you pay for;) IMO

I'd chat to Raj328 ,
He has a sick modded 330D saloon, i bet he knows what route you should take.
I think a remap would be better !
but i've seen that Tunit box in Total BMW a long long long time ago and they gave it good reviews,
Cheers Raj... ;) :D
I have just had my 330D re-mapped. All I can say is, tuning boxes can be good but they have to be the right one. As has been said, you get what you pay for.
I personally have always gone down the route of a re-map/re-chip. It will always give you a better result.
I had mine done by AmD, but the other I would consider are DMS Automotive (but they are expensive).
Mine cost me £645 including rolling road time and plots of before and after. My baby is now running 259bhp and just under 400lb/ft.
When it comes to stuff like this, always go where reputation proceeds ;) .
If it is a tuning box for sure that you want check these sites also so you can compare notes so to speak.

Thanks Guys, like you say you get what you pay for, The reason i am looking at tuning boxes is the cars still under warranty till Dec 06 and maintenance pack till Dec 08. Just a bit worried that a soft wear up date or warranty issue or even services may cause problems.
Read in BMW car mag about an e90 20d tuned by AC Schnitzer and think that was a tuning box and cost about £1000, if companys like that use tuning boxes or DMS or superchips use re-maps just not sure which to choose. [bang
I have the tuning box in that rossitters link....P-Box in my 2002 320d 150bhp model... i now have 199bhp and slightly more torque than a standard 330d...
Cant get over the differance it made to my car...Couldnt go back to driving it without it...Downside tho is it cost me £575+vat+fitting
But its worth it when your pulling away from guys in 330d's and most petrol models [ok [ok
