Hi all,

I have a new 320ci m sport, that I have only had for a week. I have taken to a dealer to check a few things. One being a very faint "crackling" noise coming from the middle of the car when stationay. So they put a new part in for some part of exhaust, but i dont think its made much difference, might just have to live with it, unless anyone else can tell me better???

Secondly, told them to look at my rear suspension as one side seemed slightly lower to the other, though that maybe cos its on uneven gorund.
Anyway they checked it and replaced the springs on either side. Now I have been told that these sometimes take time to settle in. And im sceptical of this as when I drove the car home, the rear seemed more fragile to noises. Basically I can hear more slight noises from either side when going over bumps/uneven road, is this because the springs will take time to settle in?

also can someone tell me why my 320 ci engine is not as quiet as i thought it would be, y is this? or is it me?

about the car being slightly lower on some side is if remember correctly has to do something about the car being RHD and the fuel tank desgin for RHD cars , as for the sound I'm not sure but when I fitted my ACS spring there were no sounds , whatr kind of springs have oyu fitted?

not sure, but they must be genuine BMW 320ci m sport ones, whichever ones they are. I have 2.5 years warranty left, as its an 05 model car. So they replaced the springs saying they could see a problem with the old ones, though the care is only bloody 8months old and only done 7.5k miles.

also would you know about this exhaust part? basically its a small box that fits before the big exhaust box. I could see it when I looked under my car, this shiny small box, near the middle of the car. I dunno if its me, but I feel as its reduced the slight smooth grunt i used to have from the car????

I've been told by the service guy at bmw, that as these are BRAND new parts, they will take a little time to settle in as with everything. But I still dont see why this would cause a noise from near the front suspension im sure.
