at last , here is the link below . We will post up better clips in couple days
meanwhile though , excuse the very poor editing and picture quality , it was our first time out in the car properly , and we were using a new camera . Hopefully will still give you some idea of the cars performance
Car is pulling strong as hell , especially mid range , really shoves you into the back of the seat .
The shot you see of the speedo and rev counter was a roll on in SIXTH gear , which is now a true power gear ….
Please bear in mind when watching this short vid that :
1. no clear roads
2. first time out driving the car properly for any length
3. water injection , brakes and exhaust not yet fitted , so could not apply max boost ,acceleration or power
4. running on OEM clutch , so could not mash it or do proper static launch standing start

btw , the three weeks refers to RD40's 318 , as we would have to develop a kit as I dont know of any "ready made " 318 kits on the market .
An ASA sk plus kit for your car 328 would be about £4100 fitted and take no more than a week

I'm going for a new job soon which will mean more money, if i get it, then buying a supercharger is a very real possibility in the next 4/6 months or so.
Am i right in saying it will increase my BHP from 200 to the low 300's??? If so then [bow

Depending on which kit and other mods to the car , then 280 -320 bhp :)

Depends which kit you go for. Sk+ will raise it to around 250-260, conservative figures.
Sk1 would be closer to 300bhp.

Is there anything on the car that i would HAVE to up rate? (when SC fitted)
OR
Is there anything else you would 'recommend' that i fitted to the car?? i.e better brake's!!!?

Brakes would be fine. Just uprate the pads and discs to grooved. Stainless lines also.
Clutch on the 5 speed is a definate replacement.

Cheers mate.
One problem, my car is step-tronic (semi auto).I'm thinking this could be a big problem? or am i wrong???

I think theres a limit of around 300bhp not sure, but you should be fine with Sk+ and it Will make a big difference.

Thanks for all your help with this mate, i was worried that with a step-tronic the auto box wouldn't be able to handle it, obviously dont wanna strain the auto box to much because if it goes its gonna cost me £££££££!!!
Thanks again, good to speak to someone who actually has a SC fitted!

yes if car is auto then we lilmit power to 290 bhp max , because the adaptive software within the gearbox ECU doesn t understand what is going on when too much power / torque is detected and goes into limp mode ;can also burst some hydraulic lines , requiring gearbox rebuild .
One answer is to strengthen the gearbox internals and increase the line pressure , costs about 2k but then you are good for about 320 - 330 bhp . This is what we did to Sham's white 330 cab auto that was featured few months ago in PBMW ( details on CA website customer cars section ) ; that car ran a 310 ish bhp AA conversion , not ASA .
Exhaust and de kat will increase response and power .
You will be ok with uprated discs and pads all round , but should still consider a BBK . Sport springs and if possible dampers will allow full use of the extra performance

Yeah buit for 2k, wouldnt you be better going for a 6spd conversion for similar £££££

good point , but
1. i think may cost more because have to change box , pedals , ecu , some wiring etc
2. customer may want to keep auto box

Cheers for the comments guys
Im home in jeersey now so I can get all the other bits done and cause Im home I can push the car a bit harder on roads I know to get a feel for her..
The exhaust is just a supersprint decat and centre pipe (Eisenmann Le Mans going on tommorow)
Il keep you posted
