Hello to the forum I have a E46 325ci sport which I've had going on 4 years now. Soooo I'm just guna do a little bit of tweeking.

I've read various threads and the Eisenman (did i spell that right) seems to be a nice quality exhaust. I only really want a back box and its got to be a certain sound. I defo dont want any drone and loud volume at normal driving levels. I do want a tad more go and something that makes some music when pressed hard. I know this is all subjective to each person but advice appreciated.

Please post any sound clip links you have to ade my choice if possible.

After 4 years bog standard I decided at last I'd keep it a bit longer but do a couple of mods.

I'm waiting on delivery of some new drilled and grooved front and rear discs with pads as the standard ones are fu@ked (think I'm about half way through the front driver side backings on the pads! Still no warning light though  )
I'm also waiting on a K&N 57i 2 kit. I have made a custom alloy scoop that fits behind the kidney grille (takes about the top 1/4 of the air flow into the grille) and contects to the factory air inlet for a nice ram air effect. This will be piped and sealed into the side of the K&N heat sheild.

Also guna need to replace the front control arm bushes with Powerflex ones as the front drivers side again are shagged!

cheers

Sam

HI Sam , a big welcome to the forum , and thanks for your enquiry .

Eisenmann rocks , no two ways about it , and we can build you amost any design and sound you wish .

Persnally I like tghe 2 x 83mm backbox design with straight round pipes and slightly staggered length pipes ( like e36 m3 ) .

Please see my site at eisenmann.co.uk for pics and sound files , as a noobie I will offer you 15% off web prices ( dont tell anyone , as normally 10 % :))

I would not recommend the 57i K and N kit , the heatshield is inadequate ; if it is actual best power and response you need then trust me and pt for active autowerke CAIS ..it fits the e46 and is truly superb , comes with carbon fibre cover . See my intake page on ca -at.co.uk please .

Powerflex items are 5% off website prices for members

Hope this all helps , dont hesitate to contact me with any me questions etc.

Hi there,

I am also looking for an eisenmann system on my E46 318ci 04 facelift. How much would it cost me for a 76mm twin pipe road sport system?

List price for 318Ci is £404 inc VAT

LOL ...

regarding the K and N kit , see what you can do to increase size / effectiveness of heat shield , use some Thermotec self adhesive heat reflective matt on the OUTSIDE face of the plastic heat shield .

See also if you can add some boot - type rubber seal to the top edge so whan bonnet is closed it forms a more airtight seal . Your biggest issue is fan washing hot air over the filter location .

I have actually seen a power LOSS on dyno when fitting an induction kit without sufficient heat insulation .

as a rough rule of thumb , you lose 1 bhp for every + 5 degrees C of heat accumulation .

good luck

Its not to bad actualy Roy its the gen 2 version, the heat sheild is metal and comes with a full length of rubber boot type edge trim that goes round the hole edge and seals upto the bonnet and to the inner wing etc. I've cut a hole in the side of the shield and piped in the cold air vent from the grille scoop.

I'll post a pic when I've made a proper conecting pipe up. (give you all a laugh)

But would mind doing that thermotec trick anyways any ideas where to get that stuff?
