If you're looking at the NVE-N099P, try ebay. They are usually cheapest on there. BMFlex got one new for £750. Store prices are circa £900.

If you don't mind an older version, caraudiosecurity has an ex-demo NVE-N077PS going for £699.

I would think so. Not 100% sure if the 1004 is nav prepped.

Whassup Guys!! :) ....the alpine navi is top notch, and as nick says....i got mine fairly cheap for £740 from a bloke on ebay who was off loading stock from his car audio store, so it was BRAND NEW with a warranty........ebay price for the N099P is rougly £850 tops....for a used one at that

Tin...the N099P does work with the cva 1004, AFAIK, the 1004 is NOT touch screen, thats why the N099P comes with a BIG MUMMA of a remote...so that you can get ALL navi functions such as zoom, repeat guidance, adress input etc etc. whilesusing a non touch screen such as the 1004.....i was trying to figure out how the navi drive unit receives the infra red signal in this scenario....as the navi drive unit is in the boot....so you'd think there would be a remote eye somewhere....but what it does is receive at the screen (1004) and send it all the way back through the hideaway box to the navi drive...which results in a slight delay, so your bottlenecking the speed of the N099P.....thats why N099P should only be used with a touch screen IMHO,i.e d300, d310....apparently d300 screen are goin sh1t cheap at da mo.

I wouldnt buy the N077 as it's like more than 2 years old now, even though it is DVD based...it's still a lot of money for a 2 year old product, and 2 years is ancient in ICE/electronics, and i think it is not TOUCH SCREEN compatible.

Tin,
A friend, my cousin and I went out and got Tom Tom Navi 5 for our iPaq's. Superior to almost all in-car systems we have come across and even those I was involved in developing for the defence industry.

My coz has a Tom Tom receiver, my buddy and I have the Navman receivers (a bit larger but battery lasts easily 30 hours).

iPaq's are HP3970 (friend), HP4700 for my coz and I. Check out the 4700 as the performance is almost twice that of the 65xx range. OK, no GPS receiver, phone or camera. Battery lasts longer with no wires or fuss. The screens are an inch larger. It also takes SD card and Compact Flash, so we can view our camera pictures immediately in Hi-Res [ok

Sonu, can you confirm the NVE - N099P will work with an Alpine CVA 1004RR head unit? If so, I'll be dropping you a line in the new year (at the xmas sale / new year sale / EvoTechnik discounted price :D )

hey guys,

the no99 alpine navi will work with the 1004 headunit but you will lose the touch screen feature and will have to revert back to the remote control method. if you can handle that then it is an awesome product to use.
