Z4's?
My cousins owns a Z4 not sure what year. Hes got a broken rear drivers side spring and obviously wants to replace both the rear springs. Now hes been getting qoutes of £260-£300 from specialist to supply and fit with OEM springs.
He's been told that there are up to 10 different springs depending on the weight of the car with all the extras fitted. He's also been told that the gas in the struts needs calibrating after they have installed the new springs. Something to do with the stability of the car when the "split diff" kicks in.
Now I always thought it was a simple case of jack up car undo strut bolt take out old spring install new spring then let the springs bed in for a few hundred miles then get the wheel alignment done to be on the safe side. I have never heard of the gus struts needing calibrating.
Can anyone advise if there is any truth in what the specialist is saying?. I dont want him to get ripped of and pay for "phantom" work...
Cheers lads :)
