e60 M5 & e46 M3

i have driven 2x of the M3's, yes they feel very quick but wondered how the M5 matches up to them in terms of handling, acceleration, noise, balance, etc. anyone driven both?

The E60 is in a different league. The M3 feels more "go-Kart" like and aggressive but the E60 is very, very quick. You need over 500 HP in a S/C`d M3 to keep up with the E60.

Went from E46 M3 cab to M6, M3 was a lot more fun, handled better and an allround enjoyable car.

M6 is much faster in a straight line, comfortable, sounds great, not as chuckable though, the handling is good but the physical size and weight are apparent, its a very good GT kind of car, just effortless but not exploitable on the roads at all so can seem a bit boring at times, whereas the M3 was more fun at slower speeds.

Had my M6 for two years now, still love it and replacing it with something that can do what it does will not be easy.
