window problem

hi guys
i've got a e46 coupe and recently when i get out of my car and close the door it seems that the window does not go down a bit so i when i close it the window sticks out a bit,does anybody know what is the cause of this as i dont want my window getting damaged,the passenger side works perfect.

This was also a problem that occured on the vert, try this to see if it works for you as temp measure as eventually you may need to get it re adusted at the dealers. Turn ignition on then use the one touch facility to wind the window right down, then pull up one touch to close it all the way. Turn igniton off then open your door to see if ot goes down and up again when you close it. I use to find that for some reason it acted like a reset :confused: :confused: good luck

I thought you had to hold the button in the down position for a few seconds after it was all the way down and then hold it in the up position after it had gone all the way up to reset it??

Ive had and still got this same problem. ive had it for over a yr, ever since i got the drivers side window repalced it does not close properly and i have to repeatidly keep opening and closing the door till the window shuts properly. I had a mechanic look at it and do the reset process and still no luck. Apparently its sumthing to do with the motor in the door re setting cause when u replace a window the car thinks the window has been smashed or sumthing and the motor re sets so i got the mechanic to try and reset the motor but to this day im still having the problem. let me know if it works for u as i may try and give it a go again.
