Has anyone got any pictures show how much if at all an 840Ci Sport will drop on Eibach springs? My dad's one has snapped a rear one so I'm look to see if its worth just replacing it with an OEM one or going with Eibach - its pretty low and standard!

8 series is one of my favourites, if only BM had made an M version!:)

Any pics of your dads car?

It has just over 100k on it and we've just refreshed all the suspension / ball joints / bushes - that was a hard slog over two weekends. Its a very complicated car underneath!

The front alloys are the right way round as well now, when he got the car a few years ago the they were the wrong way round - oops. Back ones are OK though. The suspension refresh has made a world of difference, some of the ball joints were pretty bad. The steering has been refreshed too as it was a bit sloppy.

Here's one more from the side:

Mate, IMO don't do it.

We lowered our 840 on coilovers, think it was a KW set-up. No amount of buggering about gave a better solution that the OEM set-up for everyday use IMO, and we went back to stock. It was very harsh all round.

Best handling improvement I found was to add spacers to add about 30mm to the front track and about 20mm to rear. Wheels filled arches much better and turn in (840's weak point I feel) was much better.

With a huge lump up front and a rear that doesn't take much to get flappy I think it best left as a fast cruiser.

Thanks for the advice, exactly what I was looking for :)

Will get a nice new OEM spring - I can see why on the 840 it would be a pain to get it setup right, I've never seen such a complex setup at the rear end! I left the eccentric ball joints alone - luckily they were still sound it was the none adjustable ones that needed changing.
