I wanna upgrade the speakers in my car, they got a nice sound, but want something a bit beefier lol. Anyone know what size they are in the front, and rear, and how eassy are they to fit?
Cheers [cool

6.5" components will fit comfortably in there.
No idea how easy / hard wiring is, I'll leave that to Andy, but in terms of taking the door cards off and getting everything undone, pretty simple

Yeah go for 6.5" They give the best output.
You can't re-use the original mount, as the diametre of the speaker mounting ring is too big. What you need to do is cut a piece of plastic and clamp the woofer down using the original threaded holes on the door card.
Tweeter will most likely need to be hot glued down onto the original tweeter mount.
Wiring is straight forward input from the speaker wires into the cross over blocks and then 2 wires to the woofer and 2 to the tweeter.
Important thing is mounting depth as some speakers are very deep. You need to find speakers that are of the correct depth or else your door cards will not go back on snugly. Anything less than 65mm should be fine.
Don't bother with the rear speakers, with a set of reasonably good front components, you won't hear the rears at all. I would stick with the originals and spend more on front components.
PS: I've got a pair of JBL 6.5" 6506c for sale, they are 2 weeks old ;)

There's a great DIY on the web somewhere, but for the life of me, I can't find it.
Anyway, here's what you need to do.
1. You have an airbag symbol in the door. Pull it out. You will see a hidden torx screw in there.
2. The silver door handle, the one you use to get out the car, you will see a small circle. Push down on one edge and you will lever it loose. remove it and you will see anothr hidden torx screw.
3. Underneat the arm rest there are 3 or 4 holes which contain torx screws. Remove all those.
4. Get a nice long and strong screwdriver, wrap some cloth around the end. from the BOTTOM, wedge the screwdriver between the card and the metal doorframe. Lever the card away from the frame, you will hear loads of cracking, it's fine, nothing is being broken, it's just the clips letting go. There's about 8 or 9 clips around the door, pull the card away from all the clips.
5. The doorcard is now only attached by the speaker wires and the door cable. Remove these and voila, door card off

I can recommend 6.5inch JL components. They are shallow enough to fit..and sound wicked.

Same size as a minimum, but as Nick said, you can make your own mounts out of MDF with a little bit of work and get some 6.5"
