Last time i checked excess was £200 or £250, but all the same, agree with the warranty direct route

DO NOT USE WARRANTY DIRECT!!!

Congrats mate really nice example of an M3.
What made you swing for one in the end then?
So the question would be what do you have planned next for the car, i doubt it will stay standard for long :)

Eventually I was in the market for a replacement car and was nearly going for another newer 330d, but then I saw this, the price was right & I have wanted an M3 for years, so heart ruled head in this instance and so it was:D
There are already some mods winging their way to me as I type;) , nothing major as yet, but as time goes by I am sure that it won't stay standard too long:o :D

To hear mate, i was reading your posts when you really wanted one and wanted to test drive one, just wondering if you did a test drive then instantly part with you cash.
Im in position i really want one, but think i will just hold back for now and keep playing round with my 330.
Well i look forward to seeing you M3 come together over the next few months, actually weeks or is that days ;)

Nice one Dan, i bet Friday can't come soon enough. Just a word of warning though mate, I'm not quite sure why but the first tank of fuel will evaporate in no time:D :D .
Like others have said I'm not sure on the rear spoiler but it is something different than the norm and may look better than the pics show.
Enjoy mate.

yes the first tank does vanish to thin air lol probably get something like 13-15mpg. dont be afraid to put your foot right down, and all the way to the end of the rev range. obviously after you warmed up the car first :D

I will have to get used to a whole new rev range hey:D , no more changing gear @ 4.5k....
As said I am sure that first tank will dissappear really fast & I will post my first comments on how she drives....

Congrat's on the M3. Loving that interior.
Personally I like the spoiler (can't think why;) ).
As for BMW warranty, they have changed so you can choose excess and level of cover, etc - so worth having a read here to see how it affects M cars:

well done mate, a very nice car indeed :)
bmw warranty is good but too expensive in my opinion. quite a few people go third party warranty I believe. however if the car is in good condition and M3 is a very solid car I don't think it's worth paying that much for a year.
Congratulations! awesome looking car :)

The BMW warranty isn't bad and judging by how much the cost dropped last year it is getting far more competitive with others, it is still a lot though once you get over 60k miles.
Is that the standard exhaust, looks different but could just be the angle of the photo?
Amazing condition for a car of that age, even the leather looks pristine apart from a few minor wrinkles.

Really looking forward to your comments Dan. I have a bit of time next week, so if your free would love to meet up for a ride if you have the time and wouldn't mind? ;)
As far as me getting an M3 goes -
I was pretty set on changing my car, but I have done 900 miles in my 330D in 2 days, and it has made me appreciate the car even more; it really does soak up the miles, is neck-sappingly fast when I need it to be and today I took a few work colleges out in it (one owns an M3) and they were amazed at the power, handling and performance; even more so when they realised it was a a diesel. Its a car with no cons - power AND economy.
I am kinda thinking that the M3 might not be "special enough" compared to my modified 330D to warrent almost a 50% loss in fuel economy, much higher tax and running costs etc - BUT....................ITS AN M3 :D

Yeah the 335D does seem to be the natural choice - they are auto only I think? I would prefer a manual, but I can live with the auto box since I have heard they are really good. The main issue with the 335D is it is out of my price range and I only really like the coupe - not that keen on the saloon; but it is growing on me.
PS Sorry Dan - didn't mean to hijack your thread! :o

Will take my hat off to my 330d as on my private test track I only pulled about 4 car lengths on her upto about 120 leptons:o

@Anees, from the off the M3 feels ballistic (to me anyway), in the mid range you can see the pace this car has.
Will definately have to meet up with you matey for you to fell for yourself, I am away for 2 weeks soon so may have to be when I get back;)
@Asianjedi, yeah a few others expressed their ffeling on the wing, not too sure myself, still getting used to having an M3:D

Quick update, still loving the M3, can't get the :D off my face...
One quick Q, on the OEM satnav I have paired up my phone but am getting a A-Z list of the previous owners phone book, how do i remove them and use mine?
Also spent yesterday out in the sticks of north Wales with Luke & Matt from BMW Car Magazine, they must have taken over 500 pictures and seeing what they had taken using the camera lcd looked awesome, 5/6 page feature should be in the September issue of BMW Car, will post pics when I receive some.
Must say a big thank you to :
1 - Roy @ CA Automotive for all the parts and help on the 330d:D
2 - EvoTecknik - the ispiration for many of my mods & for not making me feel like an outcast for modding a diesel:D
Car is now up for sale, along with my Stoptech BBK I bought for her but never fitted:rolleyes: .
