I mean WHAT A BEAST

5.0 V10 Twin Turbo, 527bhp or 580PS whatever floats ya boat. + alot of torque

Intially at low speeds its very docile and easy to drive. Ride is firm (in sport) but not as bad as a coupe bm on 19" runflats, even though the RS6 wears 20" rims with 35 profile tyres all round. They are not runflat i believe.

The car pulls like a train. Drives very much like my mapped 335D but without that enormous shove you get bottem end on a the diesel. But there is no noticeable lag with the RS6 pulls well from low rpm. It really is not comparable with a mapped 335d obviously. Te RS6 is somewhat faster than the Audi R8 which i drove a while back.

The RS6 acceleration is mental. SO RELENTLESS.... jus goes and goes... Its a weird kind of acceleration, does not feel rapido but jsut so linear and the needle does swoop round the clock..

I would say its faster as an E60 M5 to 100mph but the M5 feels so raw and the SMG smashes through the gears. The RS6 just ''melts'' through them as if they are not there.

Its a totally different experiance and power delivery to the R8 which is loud and peaky.

The RS6 with its abundance of torque just goes at any rev at any given speed.

I got upto 150kebabs per hour (lol) in a short amount of space before i had to brake.

Very stable at speed and would comfortable sit at that speed all day long.

The brakes are pretty pheonominal. The thing stops on a 2 pence piece literally.

2.2 tons she weighs but the brakes eat away at the speed like a fat kid devours cake.

The interior is sublime, looks and feels expensive, the leather very much like the nappa out of the current M3 but a harder leather. Somewhat better than the Dakota in the ''cooking'' 3 series models.

The steering is very weighted at high speed which i liked, but stupidly assisted at town speed. Feels weird changing so quickly from one to the other. Something you would have to get used to.

A highly accomplished car, one i feel very priveledged to have drive at some ''pace''.

80k is alot of money for a big estate car (saloon not out yet) But for some it will be worth it.

Only 400 coming to the UK also.

I loved it.

Nice write-up mate, although it is an absolute beast of a car I don't see the £80k purchase price as justified.

And the power is alot lower than I would expect from a 5ltr V10 TT going on the basis of the M5's 5ltr V10 NA @507bhp.

Good write-up. ;)

I'll take an e60 M5 Touring if five seats and luggage are required. :D

I agree, price is hefty.

Its got some mega potential mate. Think of a 335i petrol 305bhp thats only 30odd bhp more than a N/A 3.0, detuned springs to mind.

I bet you could re-map the RS6 to 650 easy when one becomes available.

I love the M5 to pieces. Its deffo more raw. But for effortless pace, the RS6 is the way to go. Does not need stoking to become rapid. Just a touch of the throttle. The M5 needs cogs to be dropped.

Great write up, Carlos!

I'd go for the M5 any time. These days deceptively fast cars would land you in trouble.

Lol says he who does so many track days, what has been your average MPG this year so far :D

Nice write up as always, car looks so mean. But 80k for an estate!

Good write up Carlos, but .......................
M5 still preferred, Audi is just too sterile & non engaging !;)

The car is a Lemon, not worthy of a RS badge, yes I know it has a awesome engine, but there is nothing to seperate it from a STD A6, it does not even have the UR Quattro style Arches (like all RS models shouyld have), there been many ppl who have cancelled there orders, check out a few RS6/4 forums before you buy, unless it does not bother you!
Buy a RS4 B7 AVANT!...or dare i say it an M5 haha

Are you sure? AFAIK the new RS6 does have model specific wide arches as shown in the pictures, they may not be UR Quattro 80's style but I really doubt they'd suit this modern era of car. ;)

If we are dropping GT2, DB9 kind of money on a car, I'd want people to atleast look round and realise what car has just gone past them. No one would ever look twice at this on the road unless they knew Audis, and thats what puts me off all audis on the whole. I very nearly bought an A3 S line, but it just gets me time and time again... The car has no wow factor. Its nice but not special.

Thats my opinion...

Agreed, there are 1000's of S-Line Audi's which look almost exactly the same as their top line models, S3/S4/RS4/S6/RS6...

Seee i dont agree (and i aint an Audi fan either) The RS4 looks sooo pumped compared to an A4. This RS6 in the flesh does look chunkier too.

According to a few guys who have cancelled there orders due to the RS6 being more or less the same as the A6, only things that set it apart visually are the badges and the exhuasts, Audi may have shot them selfs in the foot over this model, prices may come crashing down very soon!

Take a look at the B7 RS4, the arches are beefed up all round andhave alluminum body panels, the RS6 does not have beefed up arches or ones that notice!

however yea it is a nice car but 70k!...as Mega states above you would want some thing that would be noticed nt just by a Audi fan!

S-Lines are nice, but ten to the penny, bit like what BMW have done with M-TEC really (i.e. on there 330ci's)!
