a lot of comments on bbc website there are in favour of this!? IMO - I fully disagree. Speed camera's and such are there to deter / prevent, not just catch you after (which granted in theory prevents you doing it again yadda yadda lol)

I think it is, though would entrapment not be them making you speed, then doing you for it rather than this?

Your right, thats why they run undercover wrxs and then cruise about in them looking for a race, or lane hogging in an unmarked car at exactly 69mph on the motorway to encourage you to speed past them!.... like I said.... scum bastards!!! ;)

what's the issue? Road has speed limit. Stick to speed limit. No problem. I don't get why it's so difficult

Your right Fas,speed limits everybody sticks to them regardless of the country they are in ,Never been caught speeding anywhere?if not it doesn't mean you haven't exceeeded the speed limit,it just means you've been lucky .The biggest problem people have with North Wales Police is that for all the sneaky things they do their road deaths have increased not decreased. Why the need to use a horse box on the side of the road? That in its self creates a distraction to road users,ie an accident waiting to happen. In the same paper was this http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/justice/article979786.ece
Thats why people get pissed off.

Totally agree, it always amazes me when ordinary cops tell you how even they cant stand the traffic branch!? Then when you see the cars they choose for themselves, you know they like fast cars too, which makes you wonder why they behave sneakily to other car lovers?

At the end of the day theres not a person in the country who made the decision to first of all pay thousands more for a high performance car, thousands more for running costs/petrol each year, thousand on further high performance enhancing modifications and thousands more for their insurance who dosent put the boot down slightly on a big, empty, dry, straight stretch of motorway on the odd summers night!

What kills is carelessness, lack of experience, lack of driving skill, dangerous driving, drugs, drink, sleep deprivation, poor weather conditions, poor car maintenance or.... someone coming the other way doing some of the afore mentioned who then runs into you!!

Speed contributes on occassion and should not be used complacently but is certainly not deserving of being used as the easy answer to every accident on the road! ... however it is a serious money spinner for plod when he fancies himself the latest evo 9 or similar!!!!;)

I'm sure he will tell you himself, but you dont need a fast car to speed ;) .

yeah i agree but you are more likely to break the speed limit in a fast car, plus you think that when he buys a skyline he will never break the speed limit on a public rd:cool:

I wasn't aiming the speeding thing at Fas directly,I dont think its exaggerating to say that most of us on here will have exceeded a speed limit almost every day,so people without points aren't angels, just lucky

The horse box antic is totally unnecessary. Like mentioned, it's a recipe for disaster.

If you want to stop people from speeding, do it openly, so drivers can clearly see the intended trap and slow down. Results achieved.

But then imagine the loss of revenue from such speed traps

What???

What a dumb thing to say when we are having a co-ordinated and intelligent discussion.

The camcorder is actually inserted into the horses anus by the traffic officer and the cop just lifts the tail when he wants a pic taken LOL

i agree with mark this is a distraction not a deterrent, speed cameras are placed in accident hot spots to prevent not to catch you out, where as this is a money box not a horse box:mad: .

lately there has been a plane black 535 working over time pulling people up down the Cowley road where i live, and on saturday i saw a woman get a on the spot fine they even have the credit card machines on board:eek: .

I think that now sadly the original reason of placing camera's in accident hotspots doesn't come in to the equation. Most of them are placed in the best money making position they can be.You live/drive near the A40 Harefield junction, whats the point of the speed camera on the three lane carriageway just past by that junction? Is it an accident hotspot? of course it isn't,its there to make money plain and simple.
