Anybody got any idea what type of motors they usually use in cars ? like what specfication generally do they have?

I'm working on a project , in a part of it I'm going to need create a window mechnasim used in cars any help on this would be appreciated :) .. this motor is going to be hooked up to a microcontroller

Could you not just use an old car motor mate or do you have to build it from scratch ? I would say it will just be a standard 12v dc motor

I don't have to build the motor , I have to do the whole window lift thing its a uni project so its all part of the learning process, plus I'm doing a market survey and was wondering what types I should be looking at.
