Hi some of you may remember me posting up this.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g253/IndividualOne/minibump001.jpg
Well the good new is that the company's lorry who hit it has paid for the repairs through there insurance, alls good and well.
Then yesterday the renewal for the mini came through the post and to my sock it raised by
150%
So i gave the insurance company a call to see why they had put it up 150%, they said that it was because off the accident, so i said that you have NOT PAID ONE PENNY to-wards the repair so why have you increased my policy.
The long and short of the call was because we informed the insurance about the accident. So has you can guess it's goodbye to
Buget

Yes, unfortunately insurance companies will think of all ways to bill you more. You reported the case, ie. that puts you at a 'higher risk' group of people who will report incidents, more work for them, they charge you more.......

Too late now :o but for future reference if you have a no fault accident let a third party no win no fee company sort it out for you.All you have to do is tell your insurance company that you have been involved in an accident but you dont want them to pursue it for you.Thats what I did last year and it didn't affect my policy or get registered on HPI.I have a number for anyone who may need to use this type of service in the future

I had a crash which was'nt my fault in febuary and when ringing round for insurance qoutes i found it lot cheaper to not tell them about the crash(by about £200)
I stayed with adrian flux who did'nt charge me anymore(thank god).

Yes i told them it was the other drivers fault and that the company and the driver admitted it was there fault and would pay for the damage
Do you think it will now be on the register list
I cannot understand this.
Please post up the number you have or PM me that would be great.

The company I use probably wouldn't deal with an "old " claim.Did you let your insurance deal with the claim at all?If not it shouldn't appear on HPI,if they paid for repairs it will.

Modern day highwaymen. Feel for you mate. When my car was hit from behind on a motorway I dealt directly with the third parties insurance company and didn't involve my insurance at all. They did know about it incase I needed to use legal advice but I dealt with an excellent advisor at the other end who was extremely helpful. I was lucky and my insurance never went up as a consequence. Have you got quotes from any other companies? How have they compared to your pre accident quotes?

Someone reversed into my parked car a couple of years back. His insurance sorted it all out for me. I only reported the accident to my insurance company and still it went up £250!!!
Why? As a young driver I am high risk. This time it was not my fault and next time it could be mine! WHAT THE FUCK?!!!!!!! Norwhich Union fucking chat from their arses or what!

I will shop for another quote, use confused.com etc. It'll only take 10 mins. You are more than likely to find another that will be cheaper than what you paid last year, despite the notification (you will still need to declare the incident, regardless of whether it's your fault or not). Staying with the same insurance company only equal one thing, ever escalating premiums, despite NCB and your loyalty.

Cheers Nick.
I've had a look on compare.com but i keep getting time out, will give it a go later.
If i tell a new insurance about the accident will i not be in the same boat as with Budget.

They will take the info on board but the premium they will charge you varies, and there are plenty of companies out there who will quote you much lower premiums than what you are paying. You just need to shop for it. Time consuming but if you don't want to pay more than you have to, just got to do it.

moneysavingexpert says if you did a search on MoneySupermarket, Confused, CompareTheMarket, Uswitch, TescoCompare, and GoCompare, they recon you would have covered 100% of all UK insurers. it will take you some time but I'm sure it'll save you money
