no ..
we asked if we can buy just the gtr vents ...but they said "no way hose " , exactly to stop customers making their own conversions .

The roof looks amazing. Some questions for you:
1. How close is the CF weave to OEM CSL?
2. How much is the roof and
3. Can you guestimate how much work [labour and parts] are required during install? Both front and rear windscreens need to be removed (correct)?
The bonnet is too OTT for my liking. I like the Hartge bonnet - with the two subtle vents. Do you do this bonnet in Aluminium?
Thanks!

hi guys , hope you are all well
Some answers for you :
- 4 door and coupem facelift Vorsteiner products will be released later this year
- The current coupe GTR style hood can be fitted to coupe cars successfuly we are told , it is a case of spacing and raising the bolt fixings on the front wings . I have actually seen one of our customers cars , a330 coupe , where he himself has fitted an OEM M3 bonnet and made the adjustment to the wings , the fit looked practically perfect.
- the csl boot will fit all coupes
- on the roof panel , the weave matches the csl weave oem
- Please see our website pages on http://www.ca-automotive.co.uk/carbon-f-e46-body-styling.shtml for all retail prices , forum members please contact me by PM or e mail for discounted forum only quotes .
- I would estimate 2 days total to fit the roof ,so about £700 + parts ( approx £80) here is the procedure :
REMOVE THE ROOF WHERE ITS ATTACHED WITH SPOT WELDS.
REMOVE RUBBER TRIM THAT COVER THESE. DRILL OUT THE SPOT WELDS AND CHISLE APART WITH A PUTTY KNIFE.
LEAVE FACTORY BRACING IN PLACE.
THE GLUE I WOULD USE IS FROM A COMPANY CALLED HYSOL. THE PART NUMBER FOR THE GLUE IS EA 9309NA AND IS A LITER KIT. THIS IS THE BEST EPOXY TO BOND COMPOSITE TO METAL.
IF PREPPED RIGHT THIS WILL NEVER COME APART.
Hope all this helps
regards as always

Thanks for the further info. Do you have a pic of the CSL roof and this roof in detail so I can compare the weave?
The only thing that puts me off this install is the fact that both the front and rear screens need to be removed and you will need to purchase a new black-M3 headliner which would amount to >£500 on its own :(
Great product though!
Cheers,
Raja

If your just after the look then i would suggest a Carbon fibre skin to overlay the existing roof. Theres no point in replacing the full roof panel unless your 100% serious in vehicle weight loss for the performance benefits.

hi
FYI
-the weave of the Vorsteiner roof matches the CSL
- good point regarding the headlining inside ...but surely the standard lining can be re fitted ?

Thanks for the suggestion but I want more than just looks; no disrespect, but an overlay is a little chav (all show and no go) ;) , I would want the benefits of a weight save. Great to hear that the weave is very close to OEM CSL btw.
I've spoken to my local body shop who said the install would involve removing the front and rear screens and also purchasing a new headliner [cannot be re-used]. :( This just pushes the cost of the project a little too far. I cannot substantiate spending that much money unfortunately.
If you guys have any further info or even an install guide that would be great!
Oh and congrats on the line up of your products, you've got some great products for the E46 M3 [ok
Cheers

hi
yes the screens would need to be removed , but with care the headlining can be reused ( although admittedly easier to just fit new )
here is the procedure again :

I would be very intersted in part sponsoring this project by way of discounting the roof panel price , send me a PM if this intersts you .

I went down to my local dealer and he said he could do a replacement head-liner [just the roof, not the pilars] for £200. Could turn out cheaper than you think, Lee. Good luck with the install.
