Was talking to the guy who did my last 2 ICE-ups last night about what I'm thinking about doing on this one (that reminds me Andy, sent you PM a week or two ago, hit me back dude :p ), and I mentioned putting 6.5s in the front. He reckons that the cone would be too restricted in there and suggested anything from 5.25 to 6 max. I'll take any educated opinions atm as I'm not an 'advanced' ICE guy and don't claim to know that much at all really, but I'm only gonna do this once so I want to do it right. What's the IceCold verdict? I figure you're confident that they'll be fine as you fit them and get plenty of rave reviews, if so what's the deal with people saying they won't run as well as 6s would?

how you doin chaos!
firstly i tried to reply to your last pm but it said that your mail box was full up,
concerning the front spks, i havent had any probs fitting the 6.5' spks in there. obviously there are some considerations.
firstly brands. the overall cone clearance in there is quite tight with some speakers such as focal which have an oversized basket and cone design. these spks would potentially cause a problem, however speakers from manufacturers such as jl audio conform to the industry standard sizing and as yet have not caused me a problem.
if you would like further clarification on this matter please dont hesitate to call me.

p.s i'm curious to know who it was that said that 6's would perform better than 6'5s

Doh, yeah I did geta lot of PMs the other week, should be some room now though matey. :)

I trust your judgement, after all I've heard the proof [jam , I was just curious as to why someone thought otherwise. Especially as different speakers have different mags etc, thought it was a bit of a sweeping statement but I've lost touch a lot with ICE these days so thought I better ask. I won't name and shame in public, but I'll let you know who it was. ;)

I know you're gonna be busy with Nick and Fas, and mine will be a bit ordinary by comparison, but I'm in no hurry so we can speak whenever it's all good. :)
