hahah, cheers mate.

Quick q, do you know if the 610@flywheel figure is a peak?ie is the kit capable of more power, but detuned for reliablity&driveablity. Intrigued by the intercoolers being mounted in the OEM airboxes... would have assumed that the rotrex blowers would have been mounted there (in a symmetrical format), and the intercoolers further down behind the foglights, similar to the Dinan S3 supercharged kit.

Anyidea how much power the oem gearbox can take?

cool, can't wait for the pics! [ok

hi , roy here

in a word yes ...it is detuned .

Up to 700 - 750 bhp if your fit strengthened internals

also did i mention we now stock / offer RIGHT HAND DRIVE manifolds for M5 ?

Tin
22-04-2005, 05:01 PM
excellent.. RHD manifolds? are they Supersprint ones? if so, they are the very ones I have, as my car was the first in the world to have RHD Supersprint headers ;) I got the 1st production set, for them using my car for a month developing the system.

Sound is awesome.. with the Tubi Rumori system, friggin hell that is gonna be LOUD!!! easy 100db's! lol

Suspension, I have the ACS DFC, (Last one ever made in the world :D ) infact was a LHD kit, which was converted slightly to fit my car, with its 3 modes of electronic damper settings, its great! [ok

But I think I know someone who may be interested in the PSS9's.. he's out of the country at the mo, but will txt him ;)

Yep, supercharger q's are cool, Roger and I will probably will give you guys a visit to talk about it, let me know once you get the dyno plots, pics of the install etc..

That M5 we just finished belongs to a gentleman called Carl , i wont give out surname tho until i check with him its ok . Really nice guy actually , and he is on the forums at times . We will be doing power plot soon I hope , I am curious myself .

And yes it is LOUD .......

yes the ACS suspension is pretty cool , but be warned they discontinued it couple years ago due to some problems with the electronic control units ...just a heads up for you .

Eibach are due to bring out the same thing ( pro - tronic ) later this year ; I believe the ACS electronic coilovers were bulit by Eibach but using japanese third party electronics and servos for the adjustment mechanism.

cool, any pics of carls motor? sounds sweet! ;)

Yep, DFC is discontinued, infact had my electronics module sent back to ACS in germany for them to repair just after it was fitted, but been ok ever since.
Yep, the springs are made by Eibach, and the dampers are by sachs racing, with the electronics inhouse at ACS (could've be outsourced too).

Cool, the Eibach -protronic system sounds wicked!! I'm sure Nick will be investigating it ;)

There's a few fair electronic suspension kits out there, hence not rocket science technology, but just whether there is a enough customer demand for it to be justified.

I'm interested to hear about the twin intercoolers mounted in the oem airboxe space. Where are the Rotrex blowers mounted?

is the 610hp crank figure quoted from a stock m5? ie oem exhaust/clutch/camshafts/ecu (except whatever is required by the supercharger) etc.

For comparison, some pics of other supercharged e39 m5's (abeit only one supercharger used). I know your waiting on pics of the new install etc from your supplier, hence take your time guys. [hiya

the discovery car apparently produces 540 at the wheels , which equates to around 650 at crank , not 800 ...? Or did I miss somethin ?

Still awesome of course ......

But for the money and spec would nt more power be expected ...??

yes, thats correct according to the article in this month bmwcar, but those dyno figures where taken, when the engine hadn't been fully run in (needs another 1000miles) and was at 6200rpm with 10.5psi pressure... engine has been designed/built to go to 7500rpm and to 20psi....carrillo conrods, ported, polished heads, schrick cams etc.. in effect a full on complete rebuild of the engine with pretty much everything changed with uprated parts..

mega mega bucks, but then its a very unique car. I prefer the other blue car owned by Robert... he's gone for lightweight stuff... Brembo LeMans/OZ superleggra's, std ice setup etc.

incidently, good to see that Brembo GT kit can stop 600horses comfortably :D
the UUC Stg3 clutch handle the power and the full supersprint exhaust all play their parts :D [read

incidently both needed custom rear diff's and subframe strengthening.. Even Dinan's S3 (which has been in testing/development for 2yrs) requires subframe strengthening for this modest 620/638hp kit.

ps: The CF bonnet does look very tasty indeed on the black m5...mmmm :) [ok

HI TO ALL MEMBERS

here are some latest info points on the upcoming supercharger M5 system , including some answers to customers questions received .

It is based loosely on active's ; we will probably not be offering the Active system as our alternative is developed and mapped on a euro engine ..there are a few differences with the US spec cars that are cause for enough concern , including the mapping ; the USA kit fitted to a UK car will almost certainly require refining of the mapping and fuelling , particularlyat top end where it matters most .

Firstly please be aware that the kits will be fully tested before offering to the public , so earliest delivery will be no less than 6 weeks from date of this post .

At least one thousand kilometers of road and trackday testing will be put in on the test car over the next few weeks , following which the heads will be removed for inspection - plus running a similar setup even harder on the 540is (high boost configuration) - to ensure Rotrex SC quality is 100%.

We will not deliver anything until we are confident that we deliver 100% customer satisfaction.

What ancillary modifications are you recommending along with this s/c kit?
And how much would they be...?
Clutch kit - SPEC :-) , possible rear subframe reinforcement

Have you had anyone do any reliability trials? i.e. 6 months of driving and no problems.. ?
TÜV approval and reability trials currently in process, there is also a Air/Air Intercooled alternative in the pipeline .

Do you have any actual dyno print outs instead of plots on excel? my original dyno graph looks nothing like that one, in fact its totally linear.
Dyno was done on a Hoffman Dyno at Rotrex in Denmark -, we will do ROTOtest and DynoJet runs as we can.
We will also do a run at ESS own dyno just to annoy them this summer :-)
As this point this is what we have.

I'm very interested but i've spent a lot of money on the car lately, and would only go down this path if i felt it would really be reliable.
I understand your concerns read my initial toughts above.
we will also soon be announcing warantee details .

dyno graph below ...... damn NO its not

the dyno I have is in Excel , could someone tell me how I can post this up please ? thanks in advance

thanks for the update, sounds good!

To upload the excel file, compress it in winzip, and then make up a new post, scroll down the browser window, and you should see a section/button called "Manage Attachments", click this and then upload the zipfile to the server.

Or you could email me the file and I'll upload it for all to see. [ok

one pic of the install (area to the right has changed alittle).. not the best pic in the world, but at least its something ;)

http://premium1.uploadit.org/dmcdmc//M5-Rickard-012.JPG

Rotrex chargers, most likely mounted in the same area as the AA tuning kit.. but one think I've noticed, is the brake duct cooling will need to be removed for the charger location... dependant on where the intercoolers are mounted, possibly behind the foglights, then the brake ducting isn't viable anymore... [hmm seems a couple of sacrifices might have to be made :(

the DEMO M5 Twin S/C is on the road :-) !!!

Premier this Saturday at a BMW meet abroad.

Needs refinement of the ECU mapping, and Pulley resizing - (pushing over 1 bar now) - NOT HEALTHY ....

Photos & some Video will be posted at the weekend hopefully

Also need to fit a wideband lambda and exhaust-temp before next week - then Dyno-time, more video from that of course. :-)

getting closer .......

Install looks tidy from the pics, neat way to hide the coolers. Wouldnt want to run 1 bar without internal work though:eek:. Whats the standard kit 8psi?

CA Automotive UK

6 - 8 psi ...final boost level will be decided during testing at the Ring next week ;)

Ray, M3 SMG gearbox wont bolt upto the M5 lump. The conversion will run you easily into 15k. I was gonna go for it but its cheaper to Supercharge your M;)

unfortunately the M5 engine is no longer available .

here is a brief history of why , see what you think ..

1. we commissioned another company ( nameless for now ) to buy the engine for us for a project car .Engine was £8500 , of which we paid £6700 immediately , rest on collection or installation
2. customer changed his mind and wanted different engine , so we told company X this , they agreed to sell it on , on our behalf , and refund us .if not we could pay balance and take the engine . Thats why we advertised it also
3. Did not hear back from Company X for months about the sale , would leave messages and only occasioanly get replies .
4. Finally spoke a few weeks ago , and we were told engine was sold now and we would have our money orthe engine back within 2 weeks .

6. weeks later we still have not been able to get in touch with Company X , despite leaving a message , text or email EVERY SECOND DAY .
7 . So we sent registerd letter saying we were coming up there to collect engine or money . Funnily enough we got a call back next day from vendor .....at which time he basically said that he had sold engine and used up the money , but we were not getting anything back because our £6700 payment was nowo suddenly a DEPOSIT and as we had not paid balance we had LOST IT ALL !!!! This despite me and a member of staff both having spoke to him previously to confirm we would get engine or money back . At no time previously were we told that the payment was a deposit or that if we did not collect engine / pay balance we would lose our payment !
8 . You can imagine our response ....so it is going to court or debt collectors .
9 . I really trusted this guy and thought he was sound ...now you tell me if I am overreacting or if have been SHAFTED FROM BEHIND WITH NO LUBRICANT !
10 I have since found out this company is in financial trouble , and that the partner has left because he did not agree with the way it was being run etc etc .

THE moral of this tale is DONT TRUST ANY F..KER NO MATTER HOW NICE THEY SEEM OR WHAT THEY SAY . AT MY AGE I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER :)

 Kin hell mate.

How somebody has the cheek to say that is beyond me.

You got a reciept or something to say that you payed the £6700?

CA Automotive UK

he seems to think I dont have receipt ...but I do .

He actually said to me " you dont have any paperwork do you ? So there is nothing you can do ! "

never mind the fact I trusted him and we had an agreement ..!!

Tin

damn.. that is well out of order mate... if the companies in financial trouble... going via the court route might not be worthwhile... go the other route dude, 95% success rate in most cases ;)

damn... thats just plain stupid... how about folks like the RAC or AA? they provide warranties.. most likely outsourced, or perhaps the same guys that do the bmw extended warranty... (some travel company based in europe, i think)....
