I'm looking for some nice light weight wheels in 18" that look good. I really want some csl reps but fear they will be like an anchor on my 330. any suggestions?

velocity motoring CSL reps are pretty light. Stay away from Hamann, the genuine items are ridiculously heavy.
the lightest rims are forged aluminium. HRE, iForged, Vorsteiner and BBS to name just a couple.
What's your budget and what style rim do you like, i.e. open spoke, multi-spoke, deep-dish etc

OZ Superleggera 2 ......
Really the lightest rims with a reasonable price tag.

How do the velocity reps compare to OEM sport MV's in the weight department? any idea?
In terms of what i want, just think CSL really. Ive had m3 and m6 reps in 19", and have concluded the csl/bbs rx/bbs rc style is prefered. LM's would of course be great. I do like dished rims, but arent that fussed, and M6's are as opened as i would go.
my budget, well, as long as i dont have to sell my left nut to pay for them. hmm, dunno really. if the rims tick all the boxs i can stretch and am open to any suggestions.
any pics of the superleggeras on an e46 coupe???
thanks for the insanely quick response :D

I had the Velocity CSL reps in 18"s on my M3. They are really VERY GOOD for the money. Weighing in at 24lb per wheel (18X8.5) compared to OEM MV2s at 27.5lb.
Go to www.tirerack.com and use the online wheel simulator for the OZ SL2.
My old M3 with the Velocity CSLs.

Volk CE28N weighs 16lbs for the 18X8.5 wheel.

I know, but for $750 for the entire set, even plus shipping, the Velocity CSLs are pretty hard to beat.

16lbs, darn thats some good weight loss. I'm sure as hell i would feel that over the fat-ass 19's ive got on now.

Just for reference you front and rear 19" rims weigh 24lbs and 25.5lbs. Actually, no they don't. Just realised you have reps.

the m3 reps i had on before the M6's weighed 33 pounds! I only found that out today when i shipped them.
Dunno what the M6's weigh. If its the same then they are heading for ebay quicker than you can say obesity crisis.

I got them from the US through www.jlevisw.com However, have a word with Teddy or Roy to see if they can source you a set locally.
Velocity has just released their new V715 two-piece rims, at $999 for the entire set, 19"s!

just checked e46fanatics for some pics, looking v nice indeeeed. Perhaps not as classic as the csl's though, i dunno. Which do you prefer? also, the 18's wont be available for another 3 months. 19's kill comfort and performance just a bit too much for my liking and want to go back down.
did jlevi ship them over to the uk for a reasonable fee then? I'll ring CA and check first though. cheers.

I think the V715s is a refreshing change. The CSLs are everywhere although they still look decent.
I Fed-Ex the rims over (I don't like waiting, when I want something, I want it yesterday). 3 days, $580. If you ship them, delivery is around $80 IIRC, but takes 3 weeks.

yarp the csl's are kinda overplayed, which is why i didnt go with them in the first place. but alas...
well, i guess i can spend another week toiling over this, i could do to see the V715s on a few E46's first.
P.S what are we doing here? its 12.30 on a friday night! :/

Yes! I feel the same as Kin Mak said. Look no others! Is a lot lighter. Style wise the picture that Teddy show before say it all. Only problem is they are not cheap..;)
