Hey Peeps,

Just wanted to say hello! I look forward to being part of the club and getting to know the cars and members in the future...

A big thanks to Mike 'Nickleback' for introducing me to the club. What a fine example his CS is - a credit to the club!

I've caught the modding bug already and hear a chap called Teddy will be the man to empty my wallet :p

Cheers mate... I hope it's nothing illegal now lol

While I remember to mention I'm going to California for two weeks from next Wednesday. Is it worth buying any goodies for my car from there?

In particular I'm looking to buy:

'centre blanking plate' for my dvd screen like http://www.bmwland.co.uk/talker/viewtopic.php?t=24446&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15
Angel eyes to match the Bi-xenons
LED rear lights

I've done some searches on the lights and am aware of the other issues that come with fitting these. However should I get them while I'm out there, is there anything else I should get?

Many thanks...

Hi Purvesh,
Welcome to the forum,
With buying mods from America you need to do you homework, actual product available verses saving & hassle & @ the moment the exchange rate is very good.
OEM LED rear lights in the UK are £200-250 plus a BMW reprog if your car is post 2001, before that you need to replace the light control unit which makes the upgrade expensive. If you buy copies - check they really will work OK with your car.
2nd gen Angels are a pretty good match for Xenons which you can get from our sponsors, Teddy @ SSDD-Motorsport or Roy @ CA Automotive.
Centre blanking plate for your DVD - speak to Ice-Cold Andy @ Sextons first
Got any pics of your car yet ? - if so, get'em posted up asap

Thanks, unfortunately this Sunday I have a surprise wedding anniversary to attend! Will mate a note of keep an eye on the thread and attending the next one...

Thanks for the info Mike. I was under the impression that given the fact mine is a 2002 July model, it won't need a new LCM and will just require a reflash?
I read that I can given the chassis number to a local dealer and they will be able to tell me whether I will need one or not..
I'll get some pics up asap.

The basic details of the car:
July 2002 reg
22,000 miles, Manual
Estoril Blue
Garaged and used as a weekend car
Completely standard other than M Tec Pedals
Bi-Xenons
Folding Mirrors
Split CS rims

Very happy with it at the moment...:D

Spot on, no replacement LCM required just a reflash which you should get from a $tealer for about £20/30!;)

They're like buses :D

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I'm certainly going to fit in here well...

The car had a tiny tiny door ding in the offside rear quarter panel when I bought the car. After researching who my local $tealers use, I went along to Dent Rewind (www.dentrewind.com) in Southborough, Tunbridge Wells to get it taken out. It's the first time I've ever had a door ding removed, and I can't tell you how impressed I was at the end result. I was very sceptical at the beginning as to how much he could take out. However it's like it was never there! No distortion wats so ever, and I have an eye like a Hawk for these things :p

I can't recommend Paul highly enough, he's been doing this day in day out for the past 7 years and knows all marques inside out. He really appreciates how we care for our cars and that shows in his nature and workmanship.

The money spending has begun!

Any idea what you'll be spending your spare cash on next for the car?

I've got plenty of things to carry out, however with me being only 3 exams away from being an exam qualified ACA chartered accountant. I've got to keep my head down soon, so not sure when I'll be able to get it all done.

So far planning on..:

Full Ice install including DVD/Sevic Freeview on the move 'centre blanking plate' for my dvd screen like http://www.bmwland.co.uk/talker/view...r=asc&start=15
Angel eyes to match the Bi-xenons
LED rear lights and fogs
Tints
Painted calipers
Dark side lights
Fit my private plate
Induction kit
Re-map

This is without the list I've made from Teddy's site!
