if your getting new rims - they have to be lightweight so BBS's not TSW's used from melted down shopping trolley metal.
I had 19" TW Pace on my astra, last car, and they weighed alot.

In standard form, no it doesn't rival the M3 on performance. The D feels slower from the off than the M3, but when it gets going, from 2nd gear onwards, it just doesn't stop pulling, riding that mountain of torque... i imagine it could hang on to the M from 30mph upwards...

I can only guess what Nick's remapped D must feel like... :eek: :cool:

I can also draw a few comparisons with my old 5, and it feels noticeably quicker than that, and that's not just down to the lower weight and the few extra bhp but also the new gearbox which feels quicker than SMG :cool:

The D's handling on the standard sport suspension is very capable but with so much torque on tap, I am seeing that DSC light flash up more often than in the M... :D ... a new set of springs and ditching the RFTs is in the pipeline.

Oh yes of course I miss the M3, the E46 M3 is imo THE best car ever made by BMW, well at least until the E90/2/3 M3s hit the roads...:cool:
