View Full Version : Velocity VB3 CSL reps?
Does anyone have these fitted to their M3? any pics?
How do these wheels compare to the OEM CSL genuine wheels in looks and offset? Does anyone over here supply them?
I've been quoted $899 for a set direct from Velocity. Heres the email they sent back to me -
Hi John
The cost of 19" staggered VB3 CSL reps is $899/set.
Genuine CSL reps cost about $900+ per wheel, and I believe are forged, but I may be wrong about that.
The weight of our 19" CSL reps are approximately 26lbs, and have gotten very good reviews on the forums and from all our customers. They come with the ///M sticker on the wheel, are hubcentric to your BMW, and use factory lugbolts to mount onto your car.

I have just got a set from Jack @ http://www.custom-performance.net/
They were here in no time, just got the tyres fitted yesterday, give me a sec and I will take a pic of one.
Jack was the biz to deal with always replied to emails answering any questions and kept me informed about delivey all the way :)
They were $1185.00 with delivery ( same as $899.00 without)
Sorry cant help with offset's
Nice one, waiting for the pics :D
Have you had the chance to compare them to a genuine CSL wheel?

Very nice mate, cheers for the pics.
What sizes did you get? 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears?
What abt tyre sizes? 235 and 265? how much did the tyres set you back?
Sorry abt all the questions, really want a set, but don't want to order them if there are not identical in appearance to the Genuine CSL's
Thanks again mate

I have just picked up a set of CSL oems tonight and they are now on the car, I will take some pictures tomorrow and you can compare them.
The one thing I would say about the CSL oems is the weight, they are super light, they are also superunrepairable if you kerb one as they are mags and not alloys - or so I am told.

How long did it take to get these wheels shipped over and did you have to pay any tax?

Can you not go bigger on the tyre, I am running 245/35/19 at the front and 275/30/19 at the rear. I have 8.5 at front and 9.5 at rear.

As promised - one of my new CSL oems. The reps look pretty similar but with the originals all the details are cast into the wheel round the centre cap.

kpkpkp, any pics of the csl's on your white M3? Also have you fitted the CSL interor? If so any pics? You must have one of the rarest M3's in the country.

Judging by the weight of the CSL rims that mikem posted I doubt they are magnesium. They would be below 20lbs if they are mags.

I have not taken any pics yet as I noticed there wasa defect in the inner of one of tyres so had to buy a new one today (6 weeks use out of a tyre really bites)
The car needs cleaning and that is a Sunday job so will post up Sunday afternoon.
As for the CSL interior - loud, noisey, rattles to the bump of the bass. So it is out, I mentioned this on M3FORUMS.NET and sold it in an evening for £600 more than I paid for it so I am well chuffed. If you are thinking about the CSL interior be aware that the carbon panels do not like bass.

Excellent choice KP  Much better than your previous set.

OEM CSL wheels are cast aluminium alloy, not even forged. There no way you can use magnesium rims on our roads, they will literally crack into several pieces when you hit a pot hole.

If they are normal alloy, why the fuck are they so expensive and two why are they so hard to refurb or is it all BS. I was told they are made out of a similar metal to the new 997 turbo wheels

They`re not hugely expensive anymore a brand new set can be bought for about £12-1300 from the $tealers, this is only slightly more than a simillar sized set of BBS alloys. Prices on Ebay lately are ridiculous, there was a set on there yesterday with brand new tyres at £2500

Ha Mikem beat me to it!
I love that car, in fact I've seen better pics on an american forum. The contrast of the black an white is class however I would stop there.
Not many cars that make me want to sell up but I want a white CSL now, may have to wrap?
Contrasting views on the carbon roof, some say buy a cover, some say have the real thing fitted. The other white one has the real thing, Teddy or CA can suppply the covers.
Either way, congratulations on making your car, look so awesome.
Would be grateful if you could confirm the following for me as I want to help someone get the exact same look:
19" csl's
Eibach sportline springs?
Eibach 10mm spacers all round?
All the best
