Funny how they haven't confirmed the engine or the suspension setup or whetehr the roof and tyres come as standard or optional
those bonnet vents look totally gay on a car like the M3.
Its silver grey has CSL wheels tryes and a C/F roof . and the mirrors are crap. :(

why is it a "concept"? It's only a matter of weeks before the actual launch (Geneva Motorshow), so why is it not labelled as the real McCoy?
Doesn't look bad,regardless

BMW M GmbH has revealed an impression of the next generation M3 Coupé at the 77th Geneva Motor Show in the guise of a stunning Concept Car.
The BMW M3 Concept Car features a high-revving V8 engine that is anticipated for the series car once it goes into production.
The M3 Concept Car gives an indication of what to expect when the production version of the E92 generation M3 Coupé is released.
Bred on the race track for the road, the M3 Coupé has been an icon for more than 20 years.
The new BMW M3 Concept car is based on the just introduced BMW 3 Series Coupé (which has been critically acclaimed around the world, notably in Twin Turbo 335i guise).
For the M3 Concept car, most body panels have been recreated to suit the high-performance prescription that has invigorated driving enthusiasts for more than 20 years. The secret to any M3 is its successful combination of every day driving machine with race track weapon.
The much anticipated Geneva show car is finished in BMW M’s traditional concept paint finish “Chrome Shadow”.
While the new BMW M3 shares the overall silhouette of the 3 Series Coupé, only the doors, boot lid and head and tail lamps are carried over without alteration in the M3 Concept Car’s body.
All other components were specially engineered for the BMW M3 Concept Car. It features unique exterior aesthetics that accentuate its superior power.
The most notable change to the body is the bulging bonnet now made of weight-saving aluminium, complete with an enhanced and unmistakable powerdome, flanked by large air vents.
The V8 engine featured in the M3 Concept Car devours air at a faster rate than the previous straight six-cylinder engine, so the front apron is dominated by three extra-large air intakes.
Along the flanks, the front guards host the now traditional M gills complete with indicator repeaters and M3 badge, while side skirts re-emphasise the M3 Coupé’s powerful stance and high-performance purpose.
The muscular front wheel arches of the BMW M3 Concept Car symbolise the high level of agility and driving stability achieved by this vehicle.
Together with the forged 19-inch light alloy rims in the classic Y-spoke design, they emphasise the vehicle’s wide track, while a glance through the spokes of the rims reveals the compound high performance brakes developed exclusively for M vehicles.
Specially designed exterior mirrors feature a black double foot reminiscent of an aircraft wing. The mirrors contribute positively to enhanced stability at high speed, thanks to detailed wind-tunnel optimisation.
From any angle, the rear of the car draws the eye to the large rear wheel and muscular haunches, underlining the fact that power is delivered to the road via the rear wheels.
A typically discreet boot lip spoiler is designed to reduce lift at speed, keeping the rear wheels firmly on the ground.
The contours of the diffuser, whose design is subdivided by modelled struts, mirror the shape of the air intakes at the front. The diffuser and the now-trademark M GmbH double exhaust tailpipes leave observers in no doubt as to the monstrous performance within.
The M3 Concept Car is fitted as standard with an advanced technology carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof panel, as introduced on the limited edition E46 generation M3 CSL, and also used on the production M6 Coupé.
In addition to helping to lower the centre of gravity and thus improve agility and handling control, the Formula 1-developed CFRP saves overall weight and is left unpainted, with the finely structured surface coated only with a layer of clear finish.
When viewed side-on, the roof edges appear flatter, so lowering the perceived body height. The CFRP roof is a perfect example of how interlinking technical innovation with an individual design strategy was central to the development of the BMW M3 Concept Car.
The BMW M3 Concept Car is a vision that shows where striving for the ultimate driving experience will take us in the future.
“The BMW M3 represents the cutting edge of BMW driving superiority, and the Concept revealed at the Geneva Motor Show is more than a hint of what we can expect to be driving very soon,” said Guenther Seemann, BMW Group Australia Managing Director.
“The new high-revving V8 engine, extra-sleek body styling and the high-technology CFRP roof are the highlights of what will be a scintillating driver’s package."
it seems that the mirrors are a aerodaynmic component :D very cool

nah they rip off the mirror idea from ferrari F430 lol...Ferrari use them to channel cold air into the engine..
Dont know how it goin to help the M3?...

TBH, I thought the front looks bloody ugly :( Reminds me of my goldfish
However, I'm certian that the likes of Hamann and ACS will come out with an add on lip for it to smoothen out the lines in no time.

I'm sure it will grow on me but thats not the point, is it? Shouldn't we all be blown away? Looks too similar to the 335 in my opinion.
Think im going to stick with the 46 until these are a few years old.

I thought the front is ugle, but looking at adood's pics, the front doesn't seem too bad. Still not pretty mind. And i don't care how functional the mirrors are, they still suck.

Love all of it, apart from the front bumper.
But as Nick says, with a couple of mod's this car will be sick.
Where do I sign for a "EB" one.

I think it will grow on most people, the e92 335i is growing on me, so this should be better, and to be honest it doenst look that bad in the pics, whilst the e92 looks crap in pics, so this should look real good in the metal. Cant wait for final M3 non concept pics. Shame I will have to wait a couple of years to buy one if I like it.

I wonder if there is going to be a CSL version , this already has the CF roof and alacntra steering wheel and the CSL wheels and carbon interior .I hope they carry this over to the production (without the wheels as the are E46 wheels :D ). Then make a CSL version with a roll cage and without back seats , and more light weight material :D

A friend of mine does alot of investing in deposits for new models & he makes quite a few £££ from it, unfortunately the E60 M5 and the E92 M3 are only worth the deposit you paid on them simply because of the way BMW now allocate their cars to the dealers.
I do have a mate who's thinking about putting a deposit down on one though so i can send him your way if you like rather than him going to a dealer :)

Not sure that those can be the production rims. Looks like they ran out of time and had to hit the old parts bin to get it to the show.
The car is getting big though, i wonder if they will make the 1 coupe in an M version. A sort of rebirth of the E30?
