original article (http://www.motorauthority.com/news/sedans/currency-motors%e2%80%99-800hp-twin-turbo-m5/)

What do you do when your 500hp M5 just isn’t doing it for you anymore? You call California-based Currency Motors who, by adding a pair of turbochargers, turns the standard M5 into the world’s fastest and most powerful four-door luxury sedan on the planet. That’s right. This modified M5 delivers up to 810hp and is capable of reaching a top speed of 240mph.
For the $350,000 price tag, Currency Motors adds its own hand-built intercooler system, a full custom exhaust and of course, two huge turbochargers. In a strange move, the engineers placed the turbos under the rear bumper, forcing the charged air to run up the passenger side of the car. This was necessary as there would have been too much heat if the turbos were up front. Testament to BMW’s engineering, the SMG transmission has been left untouched.
Inside, the leather on the steering wheel and seats gets replaced with fully aniline dyed Florida crocodile in black, similar material used in the finest Bugatti roadsters of the 1930’s. Interested buyers better be quick because there are plans for only 10 copies, and at the moment the car is available in the US only.

Wow thats just nuts , and the SMG is untouched

The Article in Total BMW still left alot of doubt.

The turbos are where the rear silencers would go, so the Lag must be aweful plus i dont think even the SMG can cope with 500bhp never mind 800bhp. It had 580bhp at the wheels, that would make it nowhere near 800bhp.

Theres better Tuned E55's out there for sure.

What i meant is that there have been alot of failures on the E60 M5 gearbox, adding a couple of hundred Bhp is surely gonna make it worse.

Thats the first thing i thought! Lag must be:eek: Ive tuned a number of turbo cars in the past and just adding a large FMIC adds a massive amount of lag so the charge having to run the whole length of the car:confused:

Yeah the owner says in the article that theres no lag, frankly i find that BS. Its impossible unless hes running 1psi and cant even feel the boost....

As for a 240mph top speed - Dream on. By adding 160bhp to the rear wheels he thinks he can add another 40mph to the top speed. Maybe with 1000rwhp or so.

Maybe ill do a Clarkson one day though and eat my own hair - Doubt it though.

just think of the glowing red turbos and hitting a patch of water - they would shatter in bits!
