First in , a hybrid digi/analog tv tuner . I splashed out on the full OEM antenna kit bumper mounted antennas diverse booster module and all the correct leads to try and get a good tv picture , spent a full day taking off the bumper and running the lines through the car ...... what a waste of time and money the TV picture is no where near 100% my adivce for anyone doing a tv install get some cheap aftermarket antennas off ebay for £20 they work just as well

Next wide angle reverse camera mounted in the diffuser and wired into the reverse lights via a relay linked to the reverse cam switch on the tv tuner so the nav screen switches over to the camera when reverse is selected

Also had a little play about with the nav's splash screen that comes on when you first open the car by enbedding a new logo into the nav s/w update disk you can display any logo you want on the screen , as the standard black and white =BMW= logo is a bit dull

Still to come ..... a carputer that's controlled from the nav screen by hacking into the ibus and to add a little extra its going to have my pa-soft 1.36 OBD diagnostic kit permanently connected for OBD diagnostics direct from the nav screen and the possibility of hooking up to diagnose other peoples cars while out and about

now colour code the camera surround

another place you could have put the camera is under the bootlid handle. you could have the number plate light act as a flash for night vision

Really nice job mate, liking the reverse camera a lot! Most people put it where the BMW badge is but where you put it at the bottom of the bumper looks really tidy.

I've looked into the splash screen thing myself, can get it say ///M5 on the screen very nice touch!!!

Is the splash screen easy??? How do i do it???

Also were did you get your reverse camera from and what did it cost??? Didn't realise it was as easy as that! may give that a go!

Sorry for the Q's!!!

I looked at putting it where the badge is but it is angled up so you wouldn't see the road in the camera and behind the badge is solid so some metal would have to be cut out , diffuser seemed the safer option .
Splash screen is fairly easy you can display anything but it has to be -aspect ratio of Width 400 x Height 234 x Depth 8bit 96X96dpi, single frame. And saved as a *.GIF file
Reverse cam was £12 delivered from hong kong ebay , it has to be NTSC as pal will give a rolling pic

Not too bad , under street lights you have a good clear picture and the reverse lights and led brake lights throw out a fair bit of extra light to help
