Youngest daughter, aged 19, suffered the same on Wednesday in her Fiat Seicento Sporting; some to**er on the wrong side of a twisty country road, using a mobile phone caused her to hit a kerb to avoid hitting him. He drove on - clearly oblivious to her predicament; she sat for 2 hours waiting for recovery. The result: 2 burst tyres, 2 broken rims and the tracking shot to hell! All because some to**er wouldn't spend £5 on a hands free kit.

slightly at a tangent here but ....friend of mine is returning from japan with , apparently , a GSM jammer that they reckon can kill the signal on any gsm mobile at about 15 yards .....lots of fun i think and could be used to teach on the phone drivers a quick lesson ....
will let you know if it actually works
lol the fun you could have with that! Would be endless :D

I'll have one of them please!!!
Sorry to hear you experiences guyz - it is the norm nowadays, nearly as bad as weekend drivers who think they are best ever!!
One thing was hammered into my head whilst learning to drive - "the good driver is not the one who can drive the best - but the one who can avoid all the other to**ers on the road" - albeit through foreseeing their movements.

Sorry to hear that dude. Some lorry drivers (not all, dont mean to offend) are right a-holes. They are either on the phone, or reading something, they pay little or no attention to the road!

and smashing their alloys into a kurb in the process.. while u were having drummed into ur head no1 happened to mention were u pick up ur medal after such an event did they?
cause im due 1.
poor girl behind me wasnt paying attention and she did see him till he was like a ft away from her but by that time he was already swurving back across the road, but when i stopped further up the road 2 check my alloy she passed and she was crying :(
shame she prob dropped her lipstick and got it all dirty lol
A5GUR... yeah it must be below them this whole watching the road thing! i mean if ur jobs that boring why not get another 1 instead of smashing ppl's well earned money into kurbs.

they pay little or no attention to the road!
They don't have to, they're in a bigger vehicle. One day we'll all learn the rules of the road and understand that we should succomb (sp?) to these tw*ts.
I'm quite a considerate driver but if there is someone who is being a pr**k or thinking I'm arrogant because I'm in a bmw then I feel that I shouldn't really upset his/her stereotype, so I exercise my bmw ownership rights. ;) And I would suggest you all to do the same (when appropriate of course) :)
Sorry, a bit off-thread but its nice to have a rant :)
More to the point, I once made the mistake of trying to read a text (wasn't intending on replying) whilst moving. I was following the theory, people can glance at maps whilst driving, a text wouldn't be any different. Bloody hell, I won't try that again, I fully understand when people say you cannot have full control of a vehicle whilst on a mobile, they are completely correct. It bring to my memory the phrase "Don't be mobile on your mobile" - I think its a very good line to follow personally, because, as Invisible_kid has found out, you are not just endangering yourself, but everyone else you share the road with and that is unacceptable. Take this example, if that driver hadn't realised what was happening and the girl behind wasn't aware of what was going on, that could have turned out a lot worse than a kerbed alloy (not that that isnt bad enough). Anyway, rant officially over..
Shuriken.
i used to get passenger to read the texts but now i just ignore them cos i realized it can get you into a problem since you dont know WHAT could be in the text [crackmeup.. The things people text these days [bang. What happened to the good old phone call.

Slight tangent I know, but driving to work this morning a guy in a A3 was driving like a complete d1ck on the M4, weaving in and out of car at 50mph+. I pulled off at J3 and he was 2 cars in front, coming off the roundabout he was on the inside of a lorry and the lorry managed to take the whole side out of his car. I rolled the window down on the way past him and laughed. God that was sooo funny. [crackmeup
