View Full Version : To de-chrome or not to???

Now with krimbo around the corner my girlfriend and relatives are asking if there's anything i fancy, Now since i got the car I've been in two minds about removing the chrome kidney grills and side vents, on one hand i think they go with the titan silver, on the other hand IMO chrome trim only belongs on a Rover 75;) .

Now I've been thinking about some de-chromed grills and vent from Teddy and maybe a carbon bonnet vent:D to finnish things off.

So my question is what do you guys think about the silver and de-chrome thing??:confused:

And does anyone have any pics of a silver car with the de-chrome grill/vents??

While I'm in question asking mode has anyone fitted a carbon bonnet vent and does it come with everything needed to fit (Teddy)???

Pure black might look better than the chrome. Dunno about the carbon though, would also be interested to see pics if any exist

What about Carbon Grills to go with the Carbon bonnet, would look a better match then bonnent,kidneys and sides all Carbon!!!!!

LOL i think you misunderstood I'm not looking at getting a carbon bonnet (don't think the girlfriend would stretch to one of those:( ) just the vent at the bottom of the windscreen.

yea did understand just missed vent out, ops!

carbon would be great looking on the silver car and then you have a theme for it!!!

I reckon itd look very slick, as said above. Definitely better if you ask me. Still like the pics tho!!! :D

Thanks for the offer but i actually looked for a car with 18's as i prefer look and handling/ride, had a friends M3 vert for a weekend before i got mine and he had 19's very choppy ride maybe because it was a vert, i also drove a coupe with 19's and still wasn't impressed so i looked for a car with 18's... :D:p :D

Mind you a set of 19" BBS LM's i may be tempted;) ;)

it's really your choice mate, but since they are so easy to fit, you can change between them depending on your mood :D

The bonnet vent needs to be glued on thought but on a silver car I'd leave the original bonnet vent on.

i've got the black kidney grills on my titan silver 540 and i like the look but i also have the black trims on the bumper aswell so i dont know how they would look on your car. maybe a photoshop??

As you say if i change the grills and side vents and don't like them it's not irreversible, Think I'll put the grills, side vents and a 1st gen ccfl kit down on the old krimbo list:D

I see what your saying the bumper inserts do tie it all in nicely.

Is there anyone on here that's handy with P/S?
