A few on this forum have had work done by these guys, I myself have personally had a sweet install done by them, and in fact, bits of my car are with them as I type for a special project to be unveiled soon ;)

Andy is a top bloke, although i have not used his skills yet i have spoken to him a few times and he knows his stuff.
The best bit is that he is totally non biased, and even if you did not buy what he suggests he still makes you think you have made the right choice. I just could not warrent getting an Alpine setup, it would have cost me way too much.
When i have enough money to buy the BMW sub box for my mcoupe, i will get Andy to work his magic.
Congrats on the forum man! Didnt think you were going to get it done so fast. Only chatting about it other day!
For the non believers... MY first install was done by a 'car audio' shop and they f***ed it up. I didnt know at the time but taking it apart you find out [hmm. Also i have been to countless audio shops just to see what there views are on things and have not met an unbiased one. Even if they accept your gear they will charge you HELL of alot more to install it if it wasnt purchased from them. Anyways after chillin with andy hes won me over to go all out. His attention to detail and experience on so many high profile ;) cars can not be matched easily especially in the uk! Watch this space for some serious bling ;).
yea Fas the 'special' project sound good ;).

As some of you know. I had my install done on Sunday 6th March by Andy. Andy is a nice guy and so is Flex. However there were various problems which shouldn't have happened and the system is not right. Lots of noise - ground loops. At the moment I am not happy and I hope Andy can put it right On Easter Monday. I shall be posting a full write up once done and I won't be saying anymore until then.
Fas, I know what your project is. Saw an M3 convert with the same thing on Friday. The surround was in kiwi leather to match the interior.........nice :)

Aye, hissing at all times and alternator whine with revs. Cannot link the rears up as the noise is awful. We have some different things to try so I hope to find a solution.

thats odd. Was it always there or just started recently? Im getting alternator whine on my setup but i wired it all up myself [banana . Need to get around to doing it a little bit more professionally with less of the 'make-do's' [crackmeup.

It came with the install. I have subsequently learnt that the power cable must be run as far away as possible from the RCA leads, ie the other side of the car. Mine are together at the moment and that is probably the biggest cause of the noise.
so your rca's are running down the driver side of the car?

I'm pretty sure all the cables run down the passenger side.
I doubt very much he put in a power cable there. The battery on your car is in the boot and all BMW power cables are run down the drivers side.

That's what I thought. You might be right. However they run together from the amp until the rear seat and I haven't removed this to check. We'll do this on Monday. From speaking to Prestige Audio, there should not be any ground loops with the OEM head unit. When power and rca cables meet, they should do so, only at right angles.
It would be so much easier if the OEM h/u had rca preouts.
hmm yea that might be the problem. If the cables are running together from the amp to back seat. Although dont bet any money on it. My cables dont even come near each other! Ive even got my grounds crossing at right angles and still getting the whine.
Also the directed cable is very well shielded so i dont see it being a major cause if it is really as bad as you say. Although with noise you never know. Just have to keep eliminating things one by one. Andy shud get it sorted though man, well i hope he does because mines having similar problems and hes due to sort mine out when i get the equipment/cash together!.
p.s. You know you were on about that JL supplier. Can he get subs aswell?

Hi mate
Sorry to jack the thread like this.
I've got the TV/Sat nav in my 330, but all speakers etc. are standard.
I am looking to upgrade all the standard speakers, ie fronts, tweeters, backs and add and amp to these, and maybe a really small tube or box in the boot, nothing too thumping though.
Do you have any good quality speakers / components which would fit the car perfectly? And can you recomend / supply a small sub box - say 8 inch...
Cheers
Kris
dude make a new post about it cos itll help other people searching find it easier.
JL components/amp and infinity basslink will probably make you happy [cool.
