Got these today :D M3 fitment, 18X9.5 rears and 18X8.5 fronts. Best thing is, the 18X9.5 weighs 10.6kg each :cool: The finish on these wheels are top notch, some of the best I've seen.

Style ++++
Quality +++++
Value for money +++++
BBK friendly +++++

Test fitted one on my car today, the effect is phenomenal, looks so much cleaner than the OEM 18"s. Best thing is, behind the open spokes, all I can see is BBK :D Hardly any gap at all.

Proper pics to follow, when it stops raining so I can give the car a clean; but here is a teaser :)

Very eloquently put Nick, but it all depends on the stripper and my time :p .

Nice one :) TBH, the stock aluminium M3 bonnet is very light. I doubt a carbon fibre one will make much difference. However, a carbon roof in replacement of my 75lb roof with a sunroof is a different story altogether :D

OK guys, since it's Saturday, the teasing stops. Had them mounted on the car yesterday. They are the Velocity VB3 CSL reps in M3 fitment sizes. They don;t look too small on the car either :)

Yes they are, 23lb for the 18x8.5 compared to 26lb for the OEM 18X9.0. There are several reasons why I opted for 18"s.

1) More choices of semi slick/cup tyres without having to resolve to the ultra expensive Michelin Pilot Cup Sport or Pirelli P-Zero Corsa.

2) I have a choice of running lower profile tyres (stock tyres are tall 40 rear and 45 front profiles). This essentially alter the final drive ratio, shortening it so I get better acceleration without having to change the rear diff.

3) 18"s tyres are plentiful and cheap, especially if I'm running 2.5 or more negative front camber.

4) The wheel and tyre combo are generally lighter than a typical 19" wheel/tyre combo.

5) CSL reps look good and are very cheap. Easy to replace if I ever damage them on the track.

Looks good - I can barely see a difference in its stance [thanks to your drop and eye candy BBK] to OEM 19s and you have the benefit of a more complacent ride:

Nick - if you are going for slicks then you might want 17" rims - I jest not. A friend runs 13" rims on his Caterham with slicks and 15" for road tyres. Another M-coupe driver sticks to 17" for the slicks - very stiff sidewall etc.

I don't think you could run 17s with a BBK with the size of calipers and disks Nick runs.

Those reps that Rochford sells are no where hear the quality of the Velocity or SSDD CSLs, they are a lot heavier as well. Spoke design is not as neat too.

are they deeper dished at the rear and any comparision shots with the fronn?
Yes, the ones I got are specifically for M3 fitment only. So the rear dish is deeper than the that on the non-M CSLs.
